TV ratings: 'The X Factor' and 'CSI' rise Wednesday while ABC comedies fall

Fast National ratings for Wednesday, Nov. 14, 2012"The X Factor" bounced back a good amount after last week's low ratings, adding more than a million viewers and three-tenths of a point among adults 18-49. "CSI" also improved some on its numbers from a week ago on CBS.The news wasn't as good at ABC, where all five of its shows dropped a bit from last week. "Modern Family" once again led the 18-49 demographic by a wide margin, but it was down a tenth from last week. "The Middle," "Suburgatory" and "Nashville" also fell.Elsewhere, "Arrow" had its biggest overall audience since its premiere, and "Whitney" did OK in its season premiere for NBC -- its overall numbers weren't that special, but it improved on what "Animal Practice" had been drawing in the timeslot.CBS scored the top spot in viewers Wednesday night with 11 million, along with a 6.9 rating/11 share in households. NBC Orders Five Additional Scripts Of ‘Whitney’

After having  season 2’s premiere date pushed from October 19th to November 14th, amid disappointed fans,  Whitney  appears to be moving ahead – this time with more good news  from the NBC Network . Set to premiere this coming week on its new night and time, Wednesday at 8pm,  Deadline  has now divulged that the Whitney Cummings  comedy vehicle has not only been bumped into a better timeslot but has also received a five script pick-up. This latest news comes after a shaky ride for the show. Initially NBC held the series back, focusing in on their new fall shows for the network. After the cancellation of ‘Animal Practice’ however, things have begun to fall into place for ‘Whitney’ and the cast that includes actors Chris D’Elia (Glory Daze), Rhea Seehorn (Franklin & Bash), Zoe Lister Jones (The Other Guys), Maulik Pancholy (Phineas and Ferb) and Dan O’Brien (Being Bin Laden). ‘Whitney’ Season 2 Gets A Premiere Date

After sending fans into a panic, NBC has finally settled on a premiere date for season 2 of  Whitney . With the recent cancellation of ‘Animal Practice’, the network has plans to debut the Whitney Cummings (Chelsea Lately) comedy vehicle on November 14th at 8pm. ‘Whitney’ focuses in a young newly wed couple played by Cummings and her husband Alex, portrayed by actor Chris D’Elia (Bad Girls from Valley High). Together the two tackle marital issues  and family drama in modern day while dealing  with their quirky circle of entertaining friends  played by actors Zoe Lister-Jones (The Other Guys), Rhea Seehorn (The Starter Wife), Dan O’Brien (How I Met Your Mother), and new comer Tone  Bell (I Am the Bluebird). Community, Whitney Premieres: Delayed by NBC

NBC has delayed the  Community  Season 4  premiere date - but the news might actually be positive for our favorite study group. The network has not announced a rescheduled return for the beloved sitcom, implying in a statement that it may move from the grave yard of Friday nights and replace one of NBC's struggling new sitcoms,  Animal Practice  or  Guys with Kids .
