Season 1, Episode 26 - "Foresight (Part 3)"

The X-Men fight against Magneto's Sentinels. Meanwhile, the Hellfire Club successfully unleashes the Phoenix, which possesses the Stepford Cuckoos and is instructed to destroy the Sentinels, the X-Men and Genosha. Cyclops, Jean and Emma fight the Phoenix. During the battle, Emma seemingly sacrifices herself and destroys the Phoenix. In the aftermath of the carnage, Magneto and Quicksilver are banished from Genosha for their radical actions. From the future, Professor X informs the X-Men that they accomplished their mission and avoided the bleak, sentinel-run world. However, there is a new future that has taken its place: the Age of Apocalypse. Alongside Apocalypse, Sinister and Cyclops as Prelate Scott Summers are also present in the last scene.

After an attack on the mansion, Professor Charles Xavier and Jean Grey are missing. The X-Men disband and Scott begins to suffer from depression. Emma Frost is able to locate a comatose Charles on Genosha in the care of Magneto. Professor X telepathically orders Wolverine to lead the X-Men and set out to save the world from The Sentinel Project and prevent the Brotherhood of Mutants from taking over the world before the future ends up a bad one.

Wolverine and the X-Men Summary
The story begins as an explosive event shatters the lives of the X-Men and takes away their mentor, Professor X. The beaten heroes, including Beast, Storm, Cyclops and Nightcrawler, walk away from it all but then they are given a rare glimpse into the future, where they see a world in utter ruin - ruled by giant destructive robots. They discover the world has spiraled out of control because the X-Men have given up. So now the most legendary of all X-Men, Wolverine, must take the lead on the ultimate mission - to prevent the world's destruction - while fending off enemies Magneto and The Brotherhood.
