'Worst Cooks in America' Season 6 winner: Kristen Redmond or Genique Freeman, who won?

No matter the final outcome, Genique Freeman and Kristen Redmond can pat themselves on the back because they are no longer the "Worst Cooks in America." On Sunday (Feb. 15), after six weeks of making some of the most delicious and, well, not-so-delicious culinary masterpieces, Chef Tyler Florence's Freeman and Chef Anne Burrell's Redmond battled it out in the Season 6 finale of "Worst Cooks." RELATED: Anne Burrell: 'Worst Cooks in America' is like 'cooking in Bellevue' The two women -- who first came into the kitchen knowing next to nothing about cooking -- were challenged with the task of preparing food for a group of culinary experts. However, in the end, only one of them could take home the bragging rights and $25,000 in winnings. 'Worst Cooks in America's' Anne Burrell: Read the recipe, trust the mise en place

Zap2it: As a mentor on Food Network's "Worst Cooks in America," what do you find is the most difficult skill to teach?Anne Burrell: Before people come on every single season, I ask them, "Have you ever thought about consulting a recipe?" Because I know when I don't know how to do something, I go to reference material or some sort of instructions and that's what a recipe is. And they, for some reason, just don't see it that way, and so the biggest challenge is to get people to break their, "I can do this and what I do is good" kind of thing and to not just free-form it and to follow the rules that I'm giving them. And I feel like my mom a lot when I say this but I'm like, "Alright, the first rules are mise en place, to put everything in place. Read your recipe, get out your ingredients, do your... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Zap2it/~3/lZ4RtjE6hiA/worst_cooks_in_america_anne_burrell_recipes_mise_en_place-2015-01

Tyler Florence: 'Worst Cooks in America' is like 'cooking in Bellevue'

As a chef and teacher on "Worst Cooks in America," Anne Burrell always says that "If you like what happens in your kitchen, then that's great." But that doesn't necessarily mean it's good. Or safe.Season 6 of the Food Network series begins Sunday (Jan. 4), bringing with it more astonishingly inept and sometimes dangerously deluded home chefs. Burrell and newcomer Tyler Florence are there to show them the error of their ways -- and hopefully correct them. One was the woman whose approach to making a microwaved baked potato left Burrell dumbfounded."She took a potato, washed it and left it wet, and then put it in a plastic grocery bag, put it in the microwave with a little bit of butter in there for like two minutes, only, and made sure that the letters were facing up on the bag -- that was part of her rules," Burrell tellsZap2it. "And I asked her why, and she... http://feedproxy.google.com/~r/Zap2it/~3/iIuWszJOTfY/worst_cooks_in_america_anne_burrell_tyler_florence_bobby_flay_food_network_season_6-2015-01

'Worst Cooks in America' Season 5: Anne Burrell admits 'it's pretty much a sad state of affairs'

Having launched its fifth season, and airing Mondays on Food Network, "Worst Cooks in America" takes a team of cooking failures and seeks to give them culinary competence -- in search of a $25,000 grand prize. On hand to help them are chefs, hosts and coaches Bobby Flay and Anne Burrell. Burrell takes a few minutes off from filming to answer some questions from Zap2itabout the effort to turn kitchen zeros into kitchen heroes. Zap2it: Now that you're several seasons in, what things do all these terrible cooks have in common at the start? Anne Burell: All the recruits throughout the seasons are hopelessly bad cooks. I call them my "lovable losers." It's pretty much a sad state of affairs.RELATED: 'Worst Cooks in America' Season 5 cast photosZap2it: What has proven to be the most difficult skill to master?Burell: Knife cuts. 'Worst Cooks in America': Robert Irvine's antacid strategy

It takes strong leadership to mentor the "Worst Cooks in America," but Chef Robert Irvine finds it also takes a strong stomach. "I used three tubs of Tums, Halls cough drops and a lot of water," Irvine tells Zap2it about his strategy for eating the food on "Worst Cooks," which kicks off its second season on Sunday, Jan. 2 at 9 p.m. ET on Food Network. This time around, Irvine and Chef Anne Burrell take part in the casting process, which involves tasting -- but not always stomaching -- the concoctions brought in by the hopeful but often hopeless home cooks. "One of these people who made the show, [Joshie Berger] made the most horrendous dish," says Irvine, known for starring in the network's "Dinner: Impossible." "I was so amazed that this person and his girlfriend ate this every day, and he thought it was so good. Oh my word, it was awful." To Read More Click Here.

Food Network Chef Gets Cooked by the Cops

It seems that one of the stars of the Food Networks' "Worst Chefs in America" is also one of America's worst drivers. Beau MacMillan, one of the show's stars, told TMZ that he got nabbed by the fuzz in Arizona over the weekend on an outstanding warrant for an unpaid traffic ticket. He claimed he was pulled over for failing to stop at a red light and when police ran his driver's license, they found a warrant attached to his record. MacMillan said the warrant was for an unpaid ticket caught by a traffic enforcement camera, but he never received the ticket because he had moved to a new address. He also missed his court date because he was in New York filming for his show. So get ready for Food Network's newest show, "Worst Chefs in America's Penal System." Source Here
