OMFG - New Gossip Ads Have Outdone the Old Ones

We all must remember the hubbub that the Gossip Girl ads from the Spring (displayed above) created.

Well, the risque folk at The CW may have just outdone themselves with this new batch of ads, promoting the show's Fall return:

The quotes on the posters are from all of the critics of the original ads (like the Parent's Television Council). I actually think it's a really clever marketing campaign - kind of like the anti-Kix (yes, the cereal, whose slogan is "Kid Tested, Mother Approved"). Instead, The CW is saying: "Teenager Approved. Reviled by Parents." And what teenager isn't going to accept the challenge of annoying their parents?

That being said, I also await the backlash...

Gossip Girl returns to The CW on September 1st.

More ads! They should cross promote with Swingtown.

Swingtown could use a little OMFG - so far it's been more like some "oh my golly" moments, though I have grown to love it for what it is...
