Review
Nothing Like the Holidays
The Story:
The whole Rodriguez family is rejoicing and celebrating the reunion of all of their family members coming together in their Chicago home during Christmas. They have come from around the world, especially the youngest son Jesse, who has just returned from Iraq. For Jesse, coming home has rekindled feelings for an old flame, although she can't seem to forgive him for leaving. His older sister Roxanna, a struggling actress, has been chasing her Hollywood dreams for years with little to show for it. And much to the dismay of their mother Anna, the eldest brother Mauricio brings home his high-powered hedge fund executive wife Sarah, who would rather raise capital than a child. In the course of one eventful week, traditions will be celebrated, secrets revealed and major life decisions made.
The Cast:
John Leguizamo as Mauricio
Debra Messing as Sarah
My Review:
This is one of those movies that deals with real life comedy and drama. Unlike Four Christmases, this movie doesnââ¬â¢t push for laughs because the lives of the Rodriguez family and friends are funny enough. The people in this family have very interesting ties to each other and the story puts forth great comedic scenes and heartbreaking ones, too. I really enjoyed this one.
My Rating:
3.5 out of 5 stars
