Last night's episode of Gossip Girl put last week's big question on the total back burner...unless I slept through some explanation of whatever happened between Blair and Jack Bass. I assume this issue will be revisited soon.
This week...we follow Rufus and Lily to Boston where they search for their long-lost son. Dan is still hiding this tidbit from Serena, but thanks to a recently-turned-evil Nellie Yuki and an unfortunately descriptive text message courtesy of Vanessa, the news is soon public.
So...while not technically related genetically, Dan and Serena now share a half-sibling. Is is gross if they still date? What if their parents are dating (or at least sleeping together) too?
Imagine the explanation to the long lost Andrew:
Lily: Hi son, I'm your mother and Serena is my daughter.
Rufus: Hi son, I'm your father and Dan is my (other) son.
Dan: I'm your half brother!
Serena: I'm your half sister!
Lily: So...btw I'm dating Rufus and Dan is dating Serena. Basically we're all dating each other. But somehow it's all legal. I swear.
Rufus: You can't, however, date Jenny. That would be illegal. Welcome to the family, son.
Time to choose your Gossip Girl couples, because I think it's safe to say that it would be all too disturbing if Rufus/Lily and Serena/Dan stick together once the dead-half-brother-who-isn't-actually-dead comes to town.
So...which couple would you rather see together? Rufus and Lily? Serena and Dan? Both (because somehow you don't think it's weird)? Neither?

I want Dan & Serena together...! Much more than seeing Rufus and Lily together.
I hope there is still hope for Darena. But I do think they are in a weird situation. Hehe.
Good god. Serena and Dan i guess. Though i'm sort of meh about the whole situation. Rufus REALLY gets on my nerves and Lily is just plain annoying and kind of a walking contradiction (she apparently spends every waking second thinking about her long-lost son and about how oh-so-sorry she is for giving him up, YET she has no qualms ignoring the children that actually live with her? Eric tried to KILL HIMSELF a year ago! he tried to OFF HIMSELF because YOU weren't there! But that's ok cause she had a lot on her mind :D). Done!
the whole serena and dan thing just annoys me! serena is way too selfindulgent to have any sort of relationship and i think dan can do alot better.
With the whole lily / rufus diemma, i just think who cares. They're really not as important as some of the other characters.
But if one couple does stay together, the other shouldn't, cos even if it is legal, its just plain wierd and kinda creepy.
I really don't like either couple. The adults act like they're still 20-year-olds, and they aren't responsible for their actions. Dan and Serena have no basis for their relationship besides emotional highs and lows and "feelings". Blair and Chuck, however, have a deeper although more doomed relationship. They actually do things for each other, not just make out.
I agree with adrienne... seriously i dont get this episode. To begin with, i dont think anybody really cares about lily and rufus, they wont ever happen, lily's blue blood will just always be there and she will never put rufus before herself. Second, dan and serena yeah they are cute but dan is just so insecure, he stutters and hes just weird. serena should be dating someone better like maybe nate... and vanessa should just disappear.
I feel like this episode should have been exclusively about chuck and blair, their acting is amazing, their relationship more complex, and they really give something out to the audience. The participation of gossip girl seemed a bit too forced, she really wasnt required in this episode but they just had to put her in there to mess something up.
oh, and yuki is just a nasty person shes just plain dumb and she will never be anyone. nelly and vanessa should b friends.
dan and serena is my fav.
and technically they aren't related. it would be really awkward if the parents were together too, but if they don't live together i think it would be okay. as long they don't marry etc. hm, idk. but it would be def interesting to watch.
I watch this show because all the silly drama makes me laugh. So, whichever causes more fun drama gets my vote for this. Personally, I think they've fairly well exhausted their supply of awkwardness about this whole sharing a sibling business. They aren't actually related by any biological or even legal means at this point, so they should stop whining about how they can't be together when their parents are dating.
Watching this last episode i couldnt bear looking at rufus any longer. its amazingly inapropriate that he thinks he can just storm into the kids life like that! I mean really, the boy lived with his parents for 20 years or so and rufus just says: "i want to see him, i want to know him, i dont care that he's got a life and i can ruin it for him". It seems like he's 10 years old, its so irresponsible and childish.. try taking care of the 2 kids u have first, maby J wouldnt ruin social events or run away or nearly drop out os school..
I really want Dan and Serena to be together! i think they are just perfect if the plot would give them a chance. i think serena needs somebody like dan. lilly and rufus? dont really care but since lilly chose to marry chucks dad i think she should now that hes dad stay away from rufus too, for serenas sake...
Well they will split up soon, as Dan is meant to be having a relationship with a new teacher, according to lots of articles I've read. I'm not sure who Serena's love interest will be though..
I also think nate nd serena wud b a gud couple. I lyk dan very much, but its almost like they brother nd sister (almost can be awkward too.)
nd though blaire nd chuck make a very interesting couple whatever blaire nd jack did (has to be sexual, the way they go on about it) is soooo eww. Blair shud also lie back a little from chck ryt now, tthis is the 2nd tym chuck ditched her lyk dat.
maybe dan nd blaire wud go out (i know, stupid thought but it just jumped into my mind)
Chuck and Blair make an AWESOME couple. So much more than just making out and all that touchie-feeling thing going on with Serena&Dan. About the not-so-dead-son, there is only one person that probably knows about "Andrew" and what he looks like, his whole life and the updates about him, and that's Lilys mom. She would've been the one keeping tabs since Lily gave him up. Can't wait to see what they are going to do when they meet up.. but i vote for Rufu&Lily to be together cuz it makes more sense.. since "Andrew" isn't dead, he's going to come back to the show, and find out what kind of family he has and the fresh drama thats going to come out of meeting them.. lol.. man, i love this show...

I've always loved Dan and Serena. All the way back to the books. But this is just too much. I say that with the parents already having a fling was too much but now that they share a sibling, the relationship needs to go. It's creepy. I can ignore how much i love Dan and Serena together because if i know TV, over time the two could be perfectly madly in love with other people and make it completely believable.
As for Lily and Rufus, i honestly don't care what they do. I find the two of them completely annoying. So it doesn't bother me if they go be annoying in the corner. I think once they just settle with being together or not together the drama will die down and i'll have to watch them less. And obviously they are better suited seeing how they aren't related.

but if i had to choose, rufus&lily.
i hate the dan&serena relationship.
