Fanboys review

I caught a newer cut of FANBOYS the other day. A pal of mine works over at ocean undisclosed company in post production. Apparently, they've been cutting and recutting this thing for a while now. This is my take on their newest:

First, I have to mention this I am a HUGE STAR WARS nerd. I even read the freakin expanded universe novels. There isn't a bounty hunter, rebel, or Imperial character that I couldn't give you the entire background on. Now, this is certainly not to brag, but to let you know how conflicted I was with this movie.

First of all if, you don't know the plot, it goes a little something like this: A couple of lifelong friends must break into The Skywalker ranch to see STAR WARS: THE PHANTOM MENACE before one of their friends dies of cancer. At first, you think, hmmm, this is pretty cool concept. But then you start to remember your history. Oh, yeah. PHANTOM MENACE that wasn't so darn! Poor guy. Cancer or PHANTOM MENACE? That's a tough one. Okay, that's harsh but it IS hard to ignore that Phantom was a bit of a disa....
