Kevin Costner is ready for the races!
In addition to narrating CMT's documentary "The Ride of Their Lives," the actor has also signed on to be the 2009 NASCAR Day spokesman.
"NASCAR intends to make a difference in the lives of children," Costner says. "This is not a thing that I will normally do, but in the spirit of raising money for charity, there's probably no better use of one's celebrity."
Celebrated on May 15, NASCAR Day is an opportunity for fans, corporations, schools and organizations across the country to donate $5 to The NASCAR Foundation to raise funds for its Family of Charities in an effort to help thousands of children live better lives.
