Is it taking to long for Clark to gain his full potential?

I love Smallville! But as a regular, I'm getting tired of the same old Clark Kent. The show has evolved to the point that Clark is hardly necessary anymore. Get him up to speed with the rest of the cast and move on with the second best show on T.V. (#1 Two and a Half Men).

I used to like smallville, but now i seem to be watching it to get some closure. in addition to tom welling's COMPLETELY unchanging character, his wooden acting is in the same league as keanu reeves. notice how he doesn't get too angry. it hurts to watch.

it's too late for clark, i just want the pain to end.

sorry but his character is only suppost to be what 23, so i dont think it is taking too long at all and tom welling isnt acting wooden he was angre for many episodes eppecially when his dad died, i think though that with lana back he fell back in the old ways of pining for her, but with her gone and lois coming bk, nothin cant stop the character from moving onwards and hopefully upwards!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I'm gonna have to agree with some of you and disagree with some others. One it's been taking more than a billion decades for Clark to find his way. Jeez I mean seriously almost 8 seasons and snap, you still don't know you're meant to save the world with all that power?? I think if I slapped clark in the face with a "how to be a superhero for dummies" book he still wouldn't get the big idea. Anyway enough with the slander, the latest episodes have been barable again. Nice to see Lex's presence again, for him to die again. I mean wow, this show is really making an effort on postponing Michael Rosenbaum's return. And what's up with the Clark and Lois romance, there's like nothing there, no magic, no ... pff hell I don't know. I wish the show would get a move on in any way, cause right now it's going nowhere. So unless they come up with a new kick ass episode like Chloe's wedding. I'm going to be very angryyyyy lol

I'm with rolopolo, why is it taking this guy so long to fly, I don't want the final episode of the series to be that he FINALLY learns how to fly. That would suck.

I'm just glad the whole Lana thing is over! Why the hell did she have to come back Clark and Lois were JUST ABOUT to get somewhere then BANG! "Hey Clark i just rolled into town to stop you from falling in love with the women your meant to then i'm gonna make it so we can never be near eachother ever again! What a collosal pain in the ass i am"

    Bye!

Not that i didn't enjoy Lex's final BRILLIANT scheme but damn now Clark and Lois are never gonna get anywhere!

When the show started, I was really hoping they would stick to that no tights no flights rule they talked about, because it seemed so lame in the context of the show. However, now that Green Arrow, Aquaman, Impulse etc. are all there and pulling it off really nicely and doing what they are meant to do (creating the Justice League, fighting crime, protecting humanity, being superheroes) I kind of want Clark to don a Superman costume and fly already. His insistence on never wanting to wear a costume is getting old. It would be interesting to see how he would get away with the traditional costume (no mask) since he does not wear glasses at the Daily Planet and I think Louis and Jimmy would figure it out pretty quickly. It would be cool to give him a modern costume Superman costume with a small mask or something like Green Arrow.

Everyone is right make Clark fly already dang. and what was funny in the Justice League when they came to help Clark lightning Dude said something like why are you on ground when all three could fly i thought that was funny.. as well you would think he would want to know how to fly if you have so many powers why wouldn't you want to try.. Augh Fly already..

For one Clark Kent should never wear a mask. Two, all the talk of him flying isn't exactly what I meant. The show needs to expand in order to be successful. It needs to be Superman taking over the world by storm, not Clark Kent helping Chloe or Lana with their powers. They have been there and done that since the show has been on the air. It's just time for a change. Think about shows like Stargate SG-1, the lead actors gone, the General has been changed, the actors have new lives, and after 10 years, 2 movies, and a thrid on the way, its still striving.
