The Oscars 2009: Top 10 TV/Movie Crossover Actors, Pt 1 - Featured

| loading

The Oscars are coming this Sunday to ABC, so with the big screen actors spending the evening on the small screen, we thought we'd have a little fun picking out those TV/movie crossover actors from this year's nominated films! Check out the top 10 crossover actors of The 2009 Oscars, and stay tuned for more Oscar news and fun through the big Oscars weekend.

Amy Adams - Doubt

Amy Adams has become a break-out film star with big screen roles in Doubt, for which she's nominated this year for best supporting actress, Enchanted, Charlie Wilson's War, and more, but she's also popped up in some very popular TV shows including on The Office, The West Wing, Smallville, and Buffy The Vampire Slayer.

James Franco - Milk

James Franco missed out on what I think is a deserved nomination for his supporting role in Milk this year, but Milk has received multiple other nominations, so this nominated film's supporting actor, Franco is very deserving of note here as his arguably break-out role was not among his many films, but instead with the beloved show, Freaks and Geeks! He has of course had plenty of other hits including the Spider-Man films, Pineapple Express, and even a short role on The X-Files.

Robert Downey Jr. - Iron Man & Tropic Thunder

While many may have guessed Robert Downey Jr. would be nominated for his role in Iron Man for the 2009 Oscars, Iron Man did receive other nominations, and Downey Jr. himself received a nomination for his supporting role in Tropic Thunder. But before RDJ was busy with these big films, he's been featured in plenty of other films, and also has hit the small screen with the role of Larry Paul on Ally McBeal, and has lent his voice to Family Guy as Lois' brother, Patrick.

Anne Hathaway - Rachel Getting Married

Anne Hathaway became known for her Disney films including the The Princess Diaries series and Enchanted, but soon worked her way into more adult roles in Brokeback Mountain, The Devil Wears Prada, Get Smart, and others including her Rachel Getting Married role getting her a lead actress Oscar nod! But Hathaway has not always been on the film track as she started out in the TV world in 1999 with Get Real.

Richard Jenkins - The Visitor

Another Oscar nominee this year, Richard Jenkins, for best lead actor, has had a long film career including his current Oscar nominated film, plus plenty more like Burn After Reading, Step Brothers, Me, Myself & Irene, and There's Something About Mary. But Jenkins is well-known on the small screen as well with his role of Nathaniel Fisher on Six Feet Under.
