Eastbound is Down on HBO - Featured

The premiere of HBO's new comedy series Eastbound & Down debuted this past Sunday to only 671,000 viewers, losing 40% of its Flight of the Conchords lead-in.

The show is produced by Will Ferrell, among others (and you can totally tell) and actually seems reasonably funny, though it received mixed reviews.

Eastbound stars Danny McBride as a burnt out pro-baseball player who ends up teaching high school gym.

I agree, it was very funny, definitely has that Will Ferrel feel to it.

Danny McBride has been my favorite comic actor since Hot Rod. I feel HBO is just the right place for him.

I really can't see HBO keeping this show on air, it's family guy just not animated. The main character is a selfish border line retard who lacks any redeeming qualities has a ridiculously heightened sense of entitlement and pathetically has a support net. Show's like this are the very reason the American Dream is now a farce.

It has laugh out loud moments and lots of chuckles....its better than a lot of the turds on TV these days.....so they will probably cancel it....Ill watch it and not hold my breath.....the suits running TV are more clueless than kenny powers...
