With teen hits like Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill, and 90210, you'd think Privileged would make for a hit as well, but sadly the fate of this newbie is not looking so hot, especially now that The CW has given it an earlier finale than originally planned (now Feb 24th).
I admit I am among the guilty who didn't keep up with Privileged despite really enjoying the premiere, but my fellow SideReel TV junkie, RachelL, swears by its adorableness and quality, and so does EW, so check out EW's top 5 reasons Privileged should be saved and comment with your reasons as well!
As tutor-to-the-rich Megan Smith (pictured, left), Garcia plays cynical and sunny, pretty and goofy, dark and funny. Think Lorelai and Rory Gilmore in one, with a little Veronica Mars on top.
2. The Gilmore vibe
Nothing can replace the Girls, but Privileged comes close, with heartfelt family stories, endearing side characters (Allan Louis' chef Marco -- pictured, right -- has his own series' worth of drama!), and sparkling banter.
3. The Twins
Megan's wealthy charges, Rose (Lucy Kate Hale) and Sage (Ashley Newbrough), struggle with Paris Hilton urges, date dorks and the help, and might even want to be a little smart.
4. Its Dark Side
Megan's mom, who ditched her when she was a kid, suddenly reappeared. She then stole $25,000 from Megan's boyfriend. Who was planning to use it as bail money for Megan's sister. Who was accused of running drugs.
5. Underrated Actors
Anne Archer as matriarch Laurel, Sharon Lawrence as Megan's mom, and cougar bait Robert Buckley (Lipstick Jungle) as her editor...they've earned their job security!

RachelL here and ditto to all of those reasons. Plus: underrated hotties. "Will" aka Brian Hallisay is hotter than any dude on 90210!
I might also point out that the clothing selections on this show are excellent.
5 reasons to get rid of it
1. There are so many better shows it way at the bottom
2. Cast of characters suck!
3. Characters boring and predicable
4. Scrubs is on at same time why watch that shit?
5. It sucks on all levels
i love this show and i am a tv junkie on side reel. It came in my recommendations section on my planner and i thought i would give it a go. All of a sudden i had caught up and waiting for a new episode.
bcooper56 you are entitled to your opinion as is everyone else, but lets just say its on my must watch section every week and it will be until it ends (hopefully not soon)

It's fun to see 15 years old girls that actually worry about school and family and not only sex and drug abusive friends. I do love all the goosip girl and 90210, but it's fun to see change. I also get The Gilmore vibe and love it.
I was drawn to this series with all of the Gilmore Girls comparisons and thought it a cute, quirky show at first, but soon it grew tiresome. The comparisons to Gilmore Girls still astound me. Joanna Garcia is a fun actress, but she lacks the depth and intelligence of Lauren Graham. Privileged's creator clearly is trying to make Megan a role model/feminist icon for billionaires Sage and Rose (not to mention girls the world over), but the character often comes across as either abrasive (often to her sister, Lily) or ditzy. Lauren Graham brought a poise and presence to the role which the character Megan is completely missing. Lorelai Gilmore she most certainly is not!
While initially, I wasn't too impressed with the series; Gossip Girl it was not. I have grown to love and crave it weekly. Agreeing with freddpante, its nice to watch a show that doesn't just focus on sex and drugs, and Megan's character is to die for! Cute and quirky she does remind me of some of my fav tv characters combined into one, not to mention Sage's bitchiness and general hatred of said character just makes it all the more better.
Privileged isn't the smartest or most original show out there, but it definitely has something, a certain je ne sais quoi, that Gossip Girl and 90210 are lacking.
I tried watching this show, and I do admit, I kept up for a long time. It was one of my shows that I made sure to watch. However, I realized I wasn't enjoying it. I was thinking about HW...or how stupid that line was. Megan's character is definitely not appealing to me. She was very predictable...and cheesy. Her whole character was just too overplayed and corny. There's no other words I can think of for it. I enjoyed the storyline...but like I said, the characters are too cliche. Sage does deliver some great one liners but all in all she's just as predictable as Megan. The show tries too hard to be funny in my opinion...the whole thing is just...disappointing.
I haven't watched it since 2008 because it was just getting worse and worse for me. Yes, it is nice for a teen show not to be only focused on drugs and sex...but honestly, that's more entertaining and suspenseful than the horribly presented family issues. I really just don't care about Megan's bitch sister. Or how her dad and her haven't seen each other since she left. Or anything about her mother stealing...maybe if it was presented better I would care. But the problem with this show is that I just don't.
this show had an interesting start, but later became boring and predictable. the gilmore girls comparison is not justified at all, as this show is nowhere near as funny, smart, intelligent, and fun as gilmore girls. the megan character was promising then just grew less and less interesting as each episode wore on. she seemed to grow shallower and shallower, and the original premise seemed to be lost amidst all the other "drama" that seemed to be randomly thrown into the plot. everything feels more and more forced with each episode. so really, i won't miss this show at all. ( i stopped following it 3 episodes ago).
i love this show! it's so nice to see a show on tv today that isn't all about sex and drugs!
although i love scrubs, i also like this show...i just watch em online, no commercials
some major blah and Megan histerical verbiage profusion gets on my tits !!!! there was so many good things on the show but it is just too cheesy and nice and yes, I read it in the previous comments, predictable, even when Megan sleeps with some other guy while having a major break-up dispute is not reliable! and let's talk about Will really hot but no real good acting! and oh, I hate, I just hate Megan's eyebrows and the thing she does with them !!!
this show NEEDS to be cancelled!!..now don't get me wrong, i'm not a hater, i've seen every episode of this show and being that i'm in the UK that is no easy feat, but the problem is, i only watched it till the REAL shows were uploaded (can i hear it for Grey's anatomy!!!!!!) i didn't care for any of the characters, megan particularly irritated the pants off me....

i think they tried way too hard with rose to get 'deep'...and the little chef playing sage's bf was probably the most expressionless piece of wood i've every seen, and lets not forget how dull he was. Sage on the other hand was a great character...the progression from bitchy to reflective was believeable and the butler was a gem! i was half expecting him to smack someone in the face half the time! lol!
please do not insult the greatness that was gilmore girls, this show doesn't even come closssssssssssseeeeeeeeeee. not one damn bit!
and i got tired of watching a show revolve around ONE set-the house....i got so tired of seeing the damn house...

I really like privileged and the fact that it is not like the other shows. but seriously some of the characters can be a bit of a drag. Rose is irritating and Sage is starting to go downhill why did she have to like the loser cook, his not hot, she's losing cool points seriously. and then theirs Megan I think she's pretty ok except the fact that she is a bit corny and cheesy. and i have to add the family issue is a bit annoying. also have mercy on my soul cause if i see the same setting again i'm going to lose it. they need a trip somewhere and maybe get a bit wild.. it be intersting
I absolutely love this show!!I don't have the channel that it's on so I watch it here every week.I love the music,setting,clothing,actors and everything else about it.I hope it doesn't get cancelled!!!

i really didnt have a problem with this show. i just found sidereel from a friend, and i dont have a HD converter so i can't watch tv (stuck with downloading stuff and watching movies, which isn't so bad), but i liked this show, it looked interesting and fun when i first heared about it when i aired for the first time. i tried to keep up with it but just really havent gotten the chance. i do have to agree that the character Megan (although i liked her in Reba), is annoying as hell. her character is cheesy and week. she needs to be more strickt on the girls, especially Sage, she's the turor and pretty much the one in "charge", she shouldn't let Sage walk all over her like she does. and yeah. Rose's boyfriend was boring, she could do way better. I didn't mind the cheff (Sage's boyfriend), he was cute, i was glad she could get over herself for a few episodes to be with someone "below" her for once. and she needs to be more understanding with Rose, if Rose wants to do well in school, Sage needs to butt out and leave her the hell alone and not drag her down with her. and yeah this show didn't remind me of gilmore girls... really it didn't. honestly i could care less if they cancel this show or not, seems like there a few new shows coming out that look much more interesting.
Why arent there any more episodes? They should at least end the season with a proper ending!!!! This is defintley a new show compared to 90210 and Gossip Girl. This is new and I like it alot.
omg. i love privileged. it's my third favourite next to one tree hill and gossip girl. but i still love it and i'd die if it went away. D=
I say one reason to keep it is because the guy who plays Will is hot-hot!!!! And also the guy who plays Charile is also HOTHOT
their no hope too many shows that are better i love this show but i just love gossip girl and one tree hill and 90210 more i rather see this show end then one of those !!!

ageist some of the top shows this year plus it already been canceled and sitting here and wining about it is going to change anything i have tried to save show before it never really work i tried to save the l word and south of nowhere but its just not going to happen all you can do is image what would happen not every show ends like Roswell where they explain all you want to know and show end with a happy ending. most show that end they end with a twist or a something happen that will leave you guessing !!!!
