Review
I don't know about ya'll but i thought the episode was a complete let down.
I don't know why but it seems like they didn't even try. I was hoping they would at least come up with some creative monster at the end, its like they took the cheap way and made a new angel.
I'm a huge supernatural fan and the preview for the next episode looks like it won't disappoint. Maybe its just me, i dont know but i hope the next episodes are better.

It was just you... I thought it was awesome.... and necessary. Snapped Dean out of his "I'm not strong enough" mode and back into his "hero" mode. Loved it.
i'm gonna agree with mamacita... you're a moron..
the episode was awesome. kinda brought back the old season 1 and 2 supernatural vibe.
It was a good episode and yes very necessary. Now Dean's back and it's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum and he's all out of gum...
ok, so the new angel, whats-his-face, seems clever. ok, not by reality standards, but as far as this show goes, angels have been depicted as robot like. i know this aint the character style in terms of reasoning, but if it were my way, after the new guy said he was Cas's superior, the first thing that would have flown out of the Dean's mouth is "are you one of the 4? if you aint, your just another asshole with wings."... its the whole idea of rank in the kingdom of heaven, seems every body's got a boss, but the one who actually conceives the orders is the only one that matters.
also, anyone think sams demon blood makes mind control only work 80-90% of the way on him? i mean, sure, hes been tricked before (possessed and such), but when both guys are being 'magically' messed with, hes the one who breaks free first.
oh, and as for this episode, the one thing that threw me is they never covered the scars ... i mean, since dean was 'born again,' he only has new ones, but sam on the other hand ... memory loss or not, several bullet wounds are tough to get over. (dont think i didnt notice the winchester- smith&wesson change up tho, fu-un-ny)
this episode was good so what the hell are you talking about. agree the other guy, your a moron!!!!
I agree. This was a necessary ep. Alright it mightn't have been as deep and awesome as last week, but it was needed to show Dean his true path and who he is meant to be.
in regard to "sams demon blood makes mind control only work 80-90% of the way on him? i mean, sure, hes been tricked before (possessed and such), but when both guys are being 'magically' messed with, hes the one who breaks free first." I kinda think it was an Angel tactic...perhaps the Angel's put the dreams in Sam's head so that he could confront Dean about it and get him moving... I dunno, if not then Sam's turning out to be all kinds of bad..
if thats the case, the new guy is WAY more clever then i thought .... 'sept .... well in the first season, the 'dreams' were links exclusively to yellow eyes ... and frankly, i want sam all kinds of bad, him being the sensitive type now means he'll be the sadistic 'poetic justice' type when he turns (witch is my favorite type of badguy, they're always so clever). honestly all i hope is they dont do a jean gray/phenix move and make his bad side the all 'senseless destruction' type.
About this new angel... I personally didn't like him very much. It wasn't that he wasn't a great actor and everything and he had a good role... But I was really digging the "robot" persona the angels had going on. I really hope Castiel comes back frequently, he's one of my favorite characters.
Since Dean is also another one of my favorite characters (Sorry Sammy but you just too sensitive for me) It was nice to have an episode based more on him. I think I died a little inside when he changed the radio station though lol.
Those were my two points. Overall it was a great episode... Pretty classic and clever. It made me wonder if someday in the distant future we'll get to meet and Archangel.
And on the point... Uriel is supposed to be the Archangel or Purity...That really confused me. It seems the writers haven't done their research or something
i did really enjoy the episode too...the last few epsiodes have been really heavy so this was a really nice change of pace. Plus they needed to find some way to bring the confident cocky charismatic and funny dean back so that he could go kick some devil ass so in that respect i have to admit that i enjoyed the epsiode.
That being said, however, there were some things that i didnt like: First, If you wipe anyone's memory making them believe that they are something that they are not...yet there are several unexplainable talents that they have and things that they can just do and they have no idea why...they are gonna have questions!! They are gonna feel like they are missing something or something is incomplete. Which is what sam and dean were feeling.
I feel like it would have had a greater effect if they told dean before hand...that we're giving you the chance to be a normal guy...we're giving you an out from all the hunting, to just be an average guy...and then he tries it for a while knowing what's going on and then he realizes that he does have a destiny...
you mean if they hadn't ploped him in the middle of a haunting? if he had his memory they couldnt drop him in a haunting cuz he'd still hunt it, then he'd b-tch to the wings about how he thought he was getting a restart. and even if there wasnt a haunting, and he got a restart with his memory (like the wings have that kind of compassion), he knows the apocalypse is coming, hows he supposed enjoy his new life? dont get me wrong i like the idea of him getting the chance to chose between normalcy and hunting, i just cant figure out a way for him to keep his memories while he attempts the norm.
oh, and Fly away, i get you on the robot angels. i liked their lack of individual thought, cuz lets face it, that way theres no way they'd be at the tactical level of the onslaught of hell (you know, without the big guy and the 'omnipotent and omniscient' back up). think about it; assuming that dead humans could be made demonic, think about aallllll the evil tacticians, warlords, and mass murders that have existed throughout history. hell, even the "good guys" throughout history were usually guilty of a hell worthy sin or two. robot angels wouldn't stand a chance with all that evil creativity against them. and thats why i liked them, despite all their pride and power, it made them dependent on the winchesters (and other good humans).
