Discuss - Cupid: Save It or Sink It? - Featured

| loading

We asked you last week whether new ABC comedy Better Off Ted was worth watching. Last night we saw the premiere of new ABC drama Cupid (2.0), so we thought we'd ask you the same question.

In the words of E!Online:

Were you struck by Cupid's arrow? Or should he fly back to Mt. Olympus?

Also...if you watched the original Cupid, how does Bobby Cannavale compare to Jeremy Piven in the role?

Makes you wonder why they canceled the one from 1998 if all they're doing is using almost word for word to redo it with different actors. Personally, I really prefer Piven over the New York attitude and sounding Cannavale. In general, I hate the New York setting since they've got the "Bronx" setting thick with the main characters.

I never watched the original, so sadly I can't compare, but I thought it was much better than I expected from the light and cheesy promos. Yes, it's basically a romantic comedy for primetime, and I love that about it! I thought the pilot was really cute with a jobs very well done by both Bobby Cannavale and Sarah Paulson. I don't think it's going to be my new favorite show, but I'm definitely planning on watching it again, and as long as it stays cute and interesting enough, my vote's to save it!

I enjoyed the pilot immensely- with my favourite feel-good show getting canceled (Pushing Daisies,) it was about time for another one, and it doesn't get much more feel-good than Cupid! Personally, I love Cannavale in the role, (though I didn't see the original,) and the new-york-ness puts me in mind of Earl from Saving Grace.

I wonder if they're going to be approaching it like one couple made a week. that would be epically feel-good.

I have to say I loved Jeremy Piven in the original role (boy could he talk), but I won't pass judgment until I see a few more of the new episodes.

In truth the show hasn't really changed much. Loki had a point with the word for word dialog, there were pieces right out of the original. I think they mainly just updated the story for a 2009 audience. It will be interesting to see if they take their own spin on things.

I will be keeping my eye on this show.

Looks like the second outing is to test waters, again. Of course if it doesn't work now they may cart out the show again in ten years. I've not seen the original but Jeremy Piven is seriously cool. Cannavale does a fair job but its Sarah Paulson that's got me interested. This is not going to be a high priority show for me but it is a nice feel good show to have on your weekly roster. I say let it stay.

I don't have much to add, other than that I really enjoyed it. The similar show Valentine was of much worse quality in my opinion, and that's why it recently got canceled. I hope that this one fares better.

Save it! I love this show, haven't seen the original, so I can't compare but I am glad to see Sarah Paulson back on screen and also Rick Gomez and I am looking forward for the next episodes. I really hope there will be more than the announced nine ones.

I watched the original show with jeremy piven and i have to say that although the new show is nice...its definitely not as great as the original. I will continue to watch it though...and maybe they'll come up with a few original storylines and not just copy the old show.

im voting for it to stay, coz the whole concept of the show is awesome, but the original was so much better.

Save it! It's nice to have something light hearted to watch, I feel like everything that isn't a cop/crime/drama show gets cancelled.

Please save this show! it is going to build momentum slowly. People are almost afraid to fall in love with it for fear it will be canceled but everybody I introduced it to just loves it! Advertising it more might be a good thing to do. The people I introduced it to had never heard of it.

Other shows are about killing and tracking down killers and plotting and competing against one another. This one is about love both of the romantic and the friendship kind, and it is about someone with the courage to admit he needs help and seek it. Both versions are classics. Please keep it going!

Cupids amazing! My friends and I love it, and it should stay online! maybe if they had it on more often and told the viewers more about it, it would have recieved better ratings.

by the way, has every one signed the petition on http://tvseriesfinale.com/articles/cupid-petition/ yet?

I have to say I'm conflicted about the cancellation of this show -it is so sweat and endearing that I certainly will miss it -on the other hand, I'm not surprised. Certain elements never really clicked, especially the chemistry between the two main characters, I like them both as actors but this load they didn't manage to lift, sorry.

It merely becomes clearer when you glance at the 1998 version with Jeremy Pivon. There the chemistry is indeniable, but their love stories in each episode isn't nearly as well processed as the one's in this version.

Guess I'm just wishing for a merger of the two, as that would have been a wonderful show!

I'm just gonna walk over in the corner and try to kick my heels together to see if anything happens....
