Ok
I know Time Warner owns DC & Smallville but for some reason I heard this rumor that DC willing not release the names of certain characters onto Smallville. For example we might not ever see Batman or BRUCE WAYNE on the series. The idea of Wayne Enterprises coming into the picture or being teased about it would be a great way to hype up fan in the DC Universe.
Another example is THE FLASH, I heard that is the reason why they call him "IMPULSE" on the series right now. Smallville doesn't have the rights to those names? If its a code name thing then I would love to suggest "Vigilante" for Batman.
What do you fans think about it so far?????

I would have to say I've been waiting for them to bring Bruce Wayne in... as a friend of Oliver's or as his rival or something. I just feel since they're both rich beyond words that they'd run the same circles maybe. And they did refer to Gotham at one point awhile ago if I'm not mistaken. But that sucks that Smallville isn't allowed to use some of the names... thanks for clearing up that Impulse bit for me too I was confused as to why they weren't calling him the Flash.
that sucks and yah i think they did refer to gothom once... and possibly bruce wayne... but im not too sure...its been a while ... ... but they dont call him flash because he was actually called impulse at one point in the early comic series
I agree with K-run. I was hoping for Bruce Wayne to come in. I mean he's the one who actually starts the Justice League. Besides, I think having the Batman/Bruce's character on the show would be pretty fantastic.
Maybe have him and Oliver be introduced as having gone to the same school??
Flash aka Impulse. I never knew that. Both sound good. At least now whole name difference issue bit has justification.
If it's true that they can't use these names, than how about no names. Like maybe just some action scenes with a mysterious caped crusader and some bats. If they can't use the Batman suit, they could use an earlier attempt that doesn't use the bat persona. It could be all black and he could call himself the dark knight. Another idea could be to have Dick Grayson & Bruce Wayne using false names and investigating a crime.
well there was a flash that was called impulse. it was like a teenage version which this one is. sooo....
I doubt anyone is watching this thread but they called the flash impulse as a nod to the earlier Bart Allen nicknamed impulse because he grew up in virtual reality so had no sense of danger and was impulsive. Later he became the flash like later Clark Kent became superman.
And I don't believe they haven't brought in Batman because they auctioned the rights for the time. I think it's just they enjoy having each season have one really big event, and I think they will try and make that event very big despite Bruce only being a Batboy/training in martial arts at that age(again despite tom welling being a 30 year old man, not a young Clark Kent anymore)
