90210 - Naomi & Annie A.K.A the new Brenda & Kelly???

Is it me or am i actually going crazy???


The whole Annie and Naomi friendship/storyline seems very similar to Brenda and Kelly's friendship/storyline right?


BUT...isn't Naomi the new Brenda and Annie the new Kelly? Because in the original Beverly Hills 90210 show Brenda always had the guy first and then Kelly ALWAYS stole her best friends boyfriend right?


This is exactly the same here in the 90210 spinoff...however the majority of the people make comparisons with Annie with Brenda and i don't understand why??? YES i understand she's the new girl with her family entering into the new high school,trying to fit in with everyone... blah blah blah but that's it!!! In my opinion she's not the new Brenda!

    I think it's more based on personality. Until the later years of the original, Kelly was always perceived as the misunderstood bitch. This is definitely Naomi in the new one, whereas Annie is the seemingly, sweet and innocent, but slowly becoming more manipulative "Brenda" equivalent.

    I can't believe you found Brenda 'manipulative'. I actually thought Brenda was always 'misunderstood'. Kelly was always the 'Princess'.

    Kelly certainly was a princess, but as the show went on, Brenda pulled some very self absorbed bitchy moves. I think the both of them went back and forth on the bitch meter, but Brenda was definitely more winy about everything; which she and Annie have in common....


    As far as Kelly always taking Brenda's boyfriends in the original, that's true. Annie and Naomi have been set as the new Brenda and Kelly for sure, but this is a remake and it's going to be different. They're going to emulate Brenda and Kelly, not completely rip off them off. I think that would make for a crappy show and would be like the network saying that we the viewers are too stupid to realize they're not coming up with anything new/different.

    Of course Brenda was whiny and always moaning but that's because of her control freak parents.

    although im sure itl be good its a bit too familiar
