Debra Messing is coming back to NBC.
The Peacock is negotiating to pick up a single-camera comedy fronted by the Emmy-winning former Will & Grace star, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show is written by Josann McGibbon and Sara Parriot, who recently worked with Messing as writers/executive producers of USA Network's The Starter Wife miniseries.
The yet-to-be-titled comedy follows Messing as a laid-off CEO who must adjust to becoming a full-time wife and mother.
The pilot started a bidding war between ABC and NBC, with the latter winning after offering a script commitment and an episodic guarantee for Messing.

me too! sucks they canceled the starter wife even AFTER an emmy win, wtf?
Agreed, BadlyDrawnBoy! I loved The Starter Wife, and I think there was a lot of potential for it. I was really hoping it getting picked up as a series would mean good things for it, but at least we got more after the miniseries. Hopefully this new show for Messing will be an even bigger success.
hell yeah!
