Send a Compliment at 18:37 PDT, 12 May, 2009Season 4, episode 23. The episode right after 22 which was entirely devoted to building up to episode 23. How much of a let down was that??
Nothing happened in this one. Nothing substantial, nothing progressive. It felt like an episode 6 at best. It wasn't particularly funny (the jokes were especially tired and unoriginal). It didn't give us any new information about any of the characters either. We didn't even get a twist at the end! I half expected a new girl to show up out of the blue in the last scene.
Oh well, HIMYM is overall a fantastic series so I can forgive this. But the season finale better be fantasticker. It's been four years already, let's see this mother we keep hearing about! If they expect us to wait until the series finale to stick her in I'll just wait for the DVD box set.

good god, are you an idiot?
why the hell would they bring out the mother NOW?! so the rest of the story can go "How I did some stuff after I Met Your Mother" (bit of a mouthful dontcha think?). the show's probably gonna end when the mother's revealed. D'you really want that to be on Monday?!
besides, how awesome was it of ted to basically tell stella to go to hell?
It may not have seemed significant but I think this episode did move the plot along. Ever since the almost Wedding Ted hasn't mentioned miss right once. This episode got Ted back on that track.
I suppose what bothered me was that the previous episode was all about him getting to that intersection with that yellow umbrella which led me to believe that we'd at least get some steps along in regards to him meeting his wife.
I can certainly understand the future wife not showing up, but I was hoping for a new character or plot line at a minimum.
plot line is he changed his career.
i wasnt fully satisfied as well, but if every tv show was exactly like we'd hope, there would be no surprise
