Back to the lab or not?

| loading

So this episode kind of sucked. It was messier than usual, was it just me or did it make little to no real sense, what exactly are we to get from this episode? That the gravedigger is Brennan's dad? or that Booth's brother also loves Brennan? seriously messed up. And the whole Booth and Bones action seemed a bit hollow to me, as did the whole episode, well I mean expect for the slight little tiny part where you know, Booth has no idea who Bones is!! Yeah except for that bit.

I don't know, maybe it is just what the show needed because a lot of people were catching on to the dwindling story-lines and character story-lines. Is a little memory loss just what the Doctor ordered?

I liked the episode, i thought it was interesting to twist the characters out of context. See how Booth and Brennan do in a different story where they are together. I don't think it was meant to show us that Jared loved Brennan or that her dad is the grave digger. I think thats just a visualization of Booths mind while he is in the coma, as it works through the trauma, some of his desires and wishes and possibly how he sees the people in his life. I do agree the cliffhanger will certainly make htings interesting next season.

I totally loved how sweets sang!!!!!! hilarious! daisy dancing... i love it! I really liked this episode, although i tought in the beginning it was kind of annoying not to know what happend with booths tumor.

Next Season is going to be great! cant wait for it to start.

I liked this episode, too. It was really funny to see the characters as other persons. Wendell and Vincent were just great and Zack was finally back. And Sweets is just so sweet when he sings. The end was the only thing that sucked (in my opinion) because it was such a cliché.

sorry but generally i'm not a fan of the whole role-twisting thing, it's nerve breaking and for the first ten minutes i thought i was watching a wrong episode or sth cuz i was expecting booth lying on a hospital bed and bones worred sick waiting for him to open his eyes not them as nightclub owners. and if you HAVE to twist the roles do it for like 10-15 minutes not the whole epi. i don't believe that i'll have to wait 3 months for a new decent episode to find out what actually happens to boothy. let's just hope that the whole amnesia/memory loss thing is permanent and will go away in the first 2-3 episodes of season 5.

still can't wait, though. fingers crossed for some decent brennan-booth action. and i do NOT mean the murdery kind. ;)

    amnesia?!

    come on, bloody fracking amnesia?!

of all the possible plots existing "somewhere out there" they go with memory loss.

what is this, "the time of our lives"?

characters getting shot or kidnapped (or, god forbid, actually solving interesting crimes) just isn't compelling any more, so let's introduce a good ol' brain tumour and a good ol' amnesia.

    just what this show needs.

    ahem.

    not.

This gave us a sneak peak into how Brennan writes books. We don't really know what was going on in Booth's head. As to Booth's question, does he not know who Brennan is, or just his relationship to her?

I thought it was a very good episode. It left a lot of unanswered questions that I think will be great for season 5. I agree with spegiddo, we don't know a lot of things, like what was going on in Booth's head. It was definitely Brennan's story. And how do we know it's amnesia. He's been in a coma for four days, he's going to be confused. I think once we find out what was going on in Booth's head, it will tell us if he's not sure who she is or what his relationship with her is. It was awesome that they brought everybody back, especially Zach. I loved how they all fit into they episode too. I can't wait for season 5.

  9. Heatheranne Send a Compliment - 19:42 PDT, 14 May, 2009

See I saw the show flipped from most people. I did not this the "storyline" was Booth in a coma. I thought it was Brennen writing her story with all of the influences of the past few seasons. Now I know when Booth came out of a coma he was mumbling about a weird dream but if he remembered the dream and that dream was what he saw in the episode my thought would be that he would think that Brennen was his wife not "Who are you?"

Laughed hysterically when Sweets said, "I not gormagon, people think I am but I am not."

I do agree I cannot believe that they used the 'ole lost memory thing. My hope is that it will turn out like when Booth got shot last season and everyone thought he was dead. Kind of a "Who are you?...JUST KIDDING!"

i am sooooo mad. what a cop-out! even though it was a really cute episode...and there were so many inside jokes involved which i loved. like the gormagon thing heatheranne mentioned. but still are they EVER going to get together in any capacity? or at least kiss or SOMETHING? at least do an almost kiss- like in the x-files movie. because then we know they are in love but there is still the tension stuff.

anyways, i guess what i'm trying to say is that yes, booth's brother loves brennan.

I thought this episode was fantastic! I loved how they took every character and the lab and turned them on their heads. I loved seeing those same actors/similar acting characters and made them do things and act like they never would in "real" life. I loved the references (Gormogon, Gravedigger, etc) that they worked in in such different ways. I could not have imagined a better season finale. I think it would have been way boring had they kept going with the Booth tumor story (boooooring!). But they worked it in. And yeah, it looks like Booth has amnesia. Maybe not too creative, but sure, why not? This could be fun, if a little cliched. Drama is good for a cliffhanger, and wrapping up that drama is a good way to start a new season. I am only saddened that we won't be seeing more of this Bizarro Bones world. It was fun and kooky (although... Motley Crue? It was funny that they were the "Crew" we had been hearing about, but way too much Dr Feelgood at the end there), and I wouldn't mind venturing back there a time or two. I think this may be my favorite episode thus far.

Oh, and HELLO?! Did anyone else spend most of the episode drooling over Mr Nigel-Murray? How fucking hot did he look here? Yum, yum.

Ugh. They've been telling us about a Bones/Booth in-bed scene since before this season STARTED and then it turns out it's in a DREAM? I

was dubious that a Bones/Booth hookup would go somewhere good, but if you're going to promise it you ought to deliver.

The memory loss thing is a bit too Days of our Lives, and I always hate hate HATE episodes like this. If I wanted to watch a show about a nightclub I'd watch a show about a nightclub. It just screams jumping the shark.

After I got used to the first ten minutes, I really liked this episode. I can't say love, because honestly -- they should have given us more for a season finale; this was fluff. Awesome, enjoyable, adorable fluff. (Bouncer Wendell = Happiness) A fantastic episode...except for the cop-out ending, and the fact that we deserved more substantial plot for a finale. I mean, hell, what kind of cliffhanger is that? If it is amnesia, how seriously can we really take it? This is not Grey's Anatomy, it's Bones; Booth will be fine within an episode (maybe two) next season. My only worry is that if Booth is out of the picture for 30 seconds, maybe Brennan's temporary partner will hit it off with her, or it'll be that female FBI agent who definitely has an eye for Booth.

    And i want a baby!

i agree this episode sucked, i was expecting so much... i mean by the way the promo looked it looked amazing, the only thing i liked about the episode was that Zack is back. Otherwise a very disappointing and confusing episode. Bones is my favorite Tv show of all time and this episode really let me down. I mean the one thing they teach us when we write stories is to never never end with, and he woke up and it was all a dream!!! its a bad ending to any story.

And when booth wakes up and doesn't know who bones is well thats just stupid...

I just want Booth and Brennan together. Is that really too much to ask?? It's getting to the point where it's ridiculous and just downright annoying. I mean, we have Brennan wanting to have Booth's baby in the last episode and THEN some alternate reality in which they're married and expecting, I mean COME ON!!

And I have to agree with Bengela--Mr. Nigel Murray...SO attractive as the DJ.

Are you insane? this episode was freaking amazing ! The caracter-change was hilarious, the Lab was great, the costumes were amazing and the little hints to things we know like Gormogon or the Grave digger were just funny as can be!! The writers just had a blast writing this and you can see the actors enjoyed playing it too. And having all our favorite characters, Nigel-Murray, Hodgins, Zack, Daisy... All that missed was Clark. This change of scenery (though not really, and how funny to see the Lab that way ^^) was actually a way to escape from the reality and although the amnesia thing is just a catch to get us to the next season, I thought that this episode was actually smart and funny, brilliant really, and I loved it. Bravo to all the costume designers who made awesome stuff for the characters, too!

I loved it. Sure, it was weird at first, but then it was damn fun!!!

The B&B scenes were ADORABLE and HOT! I know it wasn't 'really' them, but if this is Brennan's story and/or Booth's dream, then that means they subconsciously want it to happen!!

Nigel-Murray was cute (in a geeky-pom kind of way), Wendell was awesome and quite nice to look at, and Clark was there too! It was awesome to see his normally stiff character playing a sociable rapper lol

As to the "Who are you?" ending.... Grrr. Irritating, but honestly I think he's joking. It seems like the kind of thing Booth would do.

Sooooo looking forward to next season!!!

I really loved how everybody was brought back together. Mr. Murry was one of my favorite characters so seeing him and zac together was hilarious. I also loved seeing Sweets sing. Who could resist that? You can't forget that they must also make money from this show. So by making the season finale such a big cliffhanger its like telling people to come back and watch the next season. I know I'll be counting the days till the next episode comes out.

I thought that the episode was fine, only it should not have been the finale.

It was ridiculously anticlimactic and then the whole 'amnesia' thing was just ridiculous.

Nigel Murray is not exactly one of my favorite characters in the show, but I loved him in this.

yeah i liked it too, it was really unexpected and i thought that was cool. and no none of that was reality so no booth's brother is not in love with bones and her dad is not grave digger. all of the characters were well out of character.....on another note however im super excited for the next season!

  22. bee-xo bee-xo Send a Compliment - 19:14 PDT, 18 May, 2009

Despite it's off the charts Out-Of-The-Blueness, I actually really enjoyed this episode. It was creative, and almost fanficcy (although, that isn't always so great. see breaking dawn for one example), and it totally held my attention. I think my favourite parts were Hodgins forgetting Daisy's name ("Pansy? Buttercup?"), Sweets singing, Vincent @ Zack; "You're the moron who gets put in jail for the murder he didn't commit.", and the end of the dream sequence, with Bren and Booth when she told him she was pregnant ^_^ that was pretty amazing.

I am EXTREMELY mad at HH for lying. But I can't help but love him for bringing us the series, so I suppose they kinda cancel each other out.

I am still confused though...was it Brennan writing (The Hodgins voice-overs definitely were her writing), Booth's dream, or both? Hopefully, it will be explained next season (along with Booth's shocking memory loss, I so did not see that coming, It's so sad!), although I don't think many people, including myself, have enough patience to wait that long XD

    Overall, a very good episode!!
