TV Graveyard: The CW - Featured

| loading

Privileged - It's really a shame that this charming dramedy did not survive past its first season. I personally thought it was a better show than 90210; it just received none of the buzz (though in reality the ratings weren't all that much worse; if you didn't know...every show on The CW gets terrible ratings!). A change in pace from most of the other CW fare, this show was more family-oriented (though still explored issues relevant to young people, from sibling rivalry to sex) and in my opinion, was really something special. All of the last-minute chatter that it might return midseason only made its ultimate cancellation sting more. 18 episodes (1 season) aired.

Reaper - Another CW fan favorite, Reaper already avoided the cancellation axe once after it was nearly canceled following the conclusion of its first season. However, it was rescued and brought back as a midseason replacement this Spring, though frankly, the network never put all that much effort into promoting it. Sadly, the series could not escape fate a second time. If it's any consolation, Tyler Labine will be back on TV next season in FOX's Sons of Tucson. 2 seasons aired.

Everybody Hates Chris and The Game - The CW had announced earlier this year that they were getting out of the comedy business entirely, so it isn't a surprise then that these 2 shows will not be returning in the Fall. Yet 2 more examples of decent shows that the network never really gave their full due. Neither were show on my regular viewing schedule; did they end satisfactorily? 4 seasons and 3 seasons aired, respectively.

Which CW cancellation angers you the most?

    Actually, it's looking better that Reaper will live on, and even Tyler would be back. Industry insiders confirm Hollywood Reporter's article that ABC Studios is actively trying to sell Reaper. Syndication is a very real possiblity right now, but EVERYONE is recommending writing your affiliates! Help out!     Aww...I'm sad about Priviledged. And it was WAY better or more special than 90210. *nods* I don't understand how they could save 90210 when it was blah. :\ I'm sad to have it go. But there are some good shows on the CW and they just need to make it more attractive, the channel all together. I mean, like their ratings are way much smaller than any of the other channels and it's pretty sad to see since some good shows get canned for bad ratings. :{

Fuck every show on the CW but Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and Supernatural. I really like Reaper but even if I miss half an episode I really don't miss anything at all. And Smallville doesn't keep me entertained. The whole Zod saga went into that rut like that season of Charmed where they did random things that involved the Charmed Ones not being witches but other magical beings instead (basically an abomination of unwatchableness) Fuck 90210 especially! That show is GHeY!

    REAPER GONE!

    WHAT A BUNCH OF HALF-WITS!

1 OF THE BEST SHOWS TO COME FROM THE U.S. IN YEARS, IT SHOULD SURVIVE IF SOLD TO A BIGGER STATION AND IS PROMOTED PROPERLY.

IT HAS JUST STARTED ON GERMAN T.V.(WHERE I LIVE) SO MAYBE THAT WILL HELP TO SAVE IT?

P.S. TRUE BLOOD AND RESCUE ME HAVE ALSO JUST STARTED HERE.

Reaper did kind of lose it's direction a bit in the second season. Lots of plots were dismissed and forgotten and it didn't seem to connect to the first season, but that doesn't mean I'm not extremely angry to see it go. It may have suffered a bit this season but it had so much freaking potential. I'm not happy about this. At all.

reaper was my favorite show, I hope another network buys it and makes it into a hour long show and digs a little deeper. Excluding the guy who plays Sam(so-so), it was an incredible cast.

Seriously, just when all the other studios are going to go super-natural following true-blood; the boon-heads at cw go ahead and cancel reaper?

Expand the premise of the show to have Sam get caught in the middle of a battle for control of hell. The plot would be one of the best in the biz. It could put the cw on the radar as a real network. Just Stupid.

its wierd that people watch crap shows but dont watch great shows like reaper

and it sucks that they ended the show with out telling you anything they left you with just a lot of unanswered questions. one of two good shows on the cw and it gets cancelled

they should just put this show on some channel that really never gets any attention

the other channel could probably afford to buy the show since its in the can now

and that channel would get a lot of ratings and attention and make money
