Allright guys -I found Whedon's response to the Buffy movie in the making:
We recently reported that Vertigo Entertainment is working on a "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" reboot, which will be produced by Fran Rubel Kuzui, who helmed the first movie and owns the rights to the franchise.
The new "Buffy" film will not have any connections to the TV series and will not have Joss Whedon involved, even though he's credited with creating the characters. So what does Whedon think about this?
EW had the chance to ask Whedon just that by email. His reply was simple. "I hope it's cool," he said, hinting that he does not plan to be apart of this reboot in any way.
Even though it must be tough to see his baby be put in the hands of other people, Whedon is not struggling for work. His "Dollhouse" TV show has been renewed and he is currently wrapping up his "Cabin in the Woods" horror film.

Buffy without Joss sucks but this film will probably top the first one :)
It won't be worth watching without the tv cast and JW's non involvement!!
I'm interested. Whedon created a world that is ripe for storytelling, and even if he's not involved, it has the potential to be something great.
I'm fine with them doing as many slayer movies as they want--just don't use the Buffy title. Buffy has already run its course and has an image to uphold for all its devoted fans. As much as I would have loved to see a movie [that stuck to the original cast and concepts of the show] after the series ended, the time for that has passed. Messing around with it and changing everything now is just not cool.
This could go terribly bad for Buffy fans! Unless of course they do such a sterling job like Christopher Nolan did for the Batman reboot.
Joss created the series but he didnt write EVERY SINGLE EPISODE! And the series was still amazing, so with or without Joss I'm sure it will be fine as long as they keep the heart of Joss's Buffy world intact.
Joss is the heart of the buffy world now, and fran kuzui was the one who turned his original movie script upside down
Plus its not a reboot (ie Buffy comics) its a cash-in.
its not a remake of buffy. its completely different from the buffyverse that joss created. so considering that and not comparing it to the buffy joss made it might not be too bad.
