Granted every term there is a frat that thinks that they should model their house after TV. These are the frats that get thrown off of campus and eventually loose their sponsorship at the national level. Greek (the series) is a joke. Greek (the series) is a joke, and no that is not a typo.

Yeah, it's TV...which is not a true portrayal of life in general. So it stands to reason that this would not be a true portrayal of Greek life.

That's why its called TELEVISION! If it was meant to portray any real Greek system then they would "This is based on true Greek Systems."
Newsflash, you don't know everything. I have been to frats (and residences) that were very much like the ones on 'Greek,' both the ridiculously girly Zeta Beta Zeta and slacker party central Kappa Tau. While this was post Animal House (which was a movie, not tv, if that is what you were referring to), I don't think they were attempting copy it. Oh, and they didn't get thrown off campus. So, to reiterate, you don't know everything about reek life.
And since it didn't claim to be reality television, about to blow the lid off fraternity life, you may have been the only person expecting it to be an accurate portrayal.

and 3 it might be unrealistic on the greek front but the characters are awsom

ya dude get over urself its not like its a reality show. its meant to entertain nobody gives a shit if its not exactly like real life.
its "lose" not "loose". and i think you're the only person who cares whether it's realistic or not. It's entertaining, that's all that matters. nothing on TV is completely realistic (except documentaries) not even "reality" shows. Get over yourself.
As a 4 year member of the greek system and recent alum I can say that there are certain aspects of the show that closely mirror reality, not perfectly but closely enough that people who have been in situations that are quite similar can relate and find the humor in them. While the show on its own is a mediocre teen drama many of the aspects of greek life that it portrays are quite entertaining and I frequently find myself relating them to real life experiences and people... especially the first season.
NEWS FLASH!
A) A lot of the writers and producers for this show have been in fraternities, so they would know what being in one is like.
B) It is meant for entertainment. Even if sororities and fraternities would get in trouble for the things they do in this show, it doesn't matter because it is for laughs. If doctors act like Dr. House does on House they wouldn't be able to practice medicine.
and C) If you are going to complain about Greek being inappropriate just look at the other shows out there as in Family Guy and South Park.
