Honest Network Taglines (If We Insist Upon This Rebranding Nonsense) - Featured
| loadingThe CW is now the latest in a stream of networks to jump on the rebranding bandwagon (rebrandwagon?) and introduce a new slogan for Fall, "TV to Talk About". Sorry CW, but the only way in which people talk about your TV is in the sense that it is sorely underwatched.
The CW is joining SciFi, soon to be SyFy - Imagine Greater, as well as Bravo, who is abandoning "Watch What Happens" in favor of the far less inspired, "by Bravo," complete with lowercase "b". I really wonder how much all of these networks paid for their marketing research; whatever it was...maybe it wasn't enough? Seriously, "TV to Talk About", "Imagine Greater" and "by Bravo" are all downgrades, bordering on embarrassments.
So, since needless rebranding seems to be all the rage, I thought I'd give the other networks some help. Here's my suggestions for them; sometimes honesty is the best policy:

Stumble It!

OMG I totally love the new slogans. Should probably be one for USA Network too...buying other Networks Garbage(but only occasionally.) I actually adore USA but they have so many reruns that im starting to feel embarrassed to watch it.
Ok the bravo slogan and re branding attempt i will agree had little to no thought put in it, however i do like the new CW one "TV to talk about" as I think that is exactly what the CW shows are ones that thrive on gossip and word of mouth. For example before the second season of GG when those posters came out that some idiots thought were too revealing that gave GG a whole lot of free publicity as every talk show from Chelsey lately to Leno had a segment talking about it.Also I like SyFy's attempt to re brand because now that BSG is over and Caprica is not until 2010 the channel really needs the publicity because even though shows like Eureka are great the core base of post BSG SciFi are shows like Ghost Hunters which are not main stream shows.
I'm in love with RachelL's honest branding. And I honestly say CBS could go with "Got Procedurals?" and have the greatest tagline it could ever have. When you're that clear about your niche, might as well put it out there... but not quite as plainly as TBS has with "very funny."
As for suggestions, maybe ABC could do better if they went with something like "Often middleaged nudity implied," or FOX's could be something like, "House will be on forever, please don't leave us!" I'll have to keep thinking on these, but I would most definitely agree the rebranding happening is lame and seems as if all these networks are taking "keep it simple" far too literally.
I agree the Bravo re-brand is horrible...but it is still better than the more honest "I can't believe we let Project Runway go, but America's Next Top Model is almost as good...right?"
