chibiPhreek Send a Compliment at 2:26 PDT, 13 June, 2009Buffy Vamp getting revamped for the big screen sounds pretty awesome but having Whedon not getting involved in any way just kills it and bites the dust. Sorry, but i will not be anticipating the movies since Whedon's baby is best left in the hands of proper caretakers (aka himself). For him to back off this project really forebodes the flop of this slayer flick.

while I see why everyone thinks that a slayer movie without Whedon will be horrible, are we forgetting that the buffy character is not his? nor is it his idea? and perhaps the original idea person is just taking back her own idea and moving it in a different direction, which is exactly what Whedon did? The first movie was amazing for when it was made, and having had a different perspective may have helped the sequel to the movie evolve into something much better. I just don't understand why everyone gets upset, yes it will be different Whedon owns all of the characters except buffy, but it is back in the original visionary's hands and maybe it will be good.
I'm NOT going to watch a Buffy movie without Joss Whedon and without the brilliant characters, created by him!!! I didn't like the first Buffy movie with Kristy Swanson! :(
But I'm a huge fan of the Whedon tv-shows because of Spike and Angel - they are my favorite vampires and I loved their stories and adventures!! I love these two vamps, especially Spike - he is my most favorite hero and the best tv-character ever! And he is created by Joss Whedon. If Joss decides to make a Spike/Angel movie with Illyria, Wesley, Drusilla, Willow, Giles, Faith, it would be great!!! :))
I also would pay to see a Spike movie, but a TV series would be even better. What could be better than Spike at least once a week. Did not care much for Angel, but love Angelus, he is just so evil and love his laugh.
Depends on who is going to be in the Buffy movie, but I will not say off hand that I will not go see it. I hated when everyone was saying bad things about Dragonball:Evolution before it ever came out and I loved it. Have to say I would not have gone to see it if James Marsters had not been Piccolo, but since I fell in love with James as Spike I now count him my favorite actor and will watch any thing he is in. IMO Spike is the best character ever brought to television and the best vampire EVER.

Where are you getting that Buffy is not a Whedon creation? He wrote the original 1992 movie.
rain_hayden you could not be more wrong... Buffy was Joss' baby from the get-go. He created her, wrote the original script and was on the set of the film until they decided to make it a summer popcorn flick!
I think they should get all the same people who played in the series to play in the movie and explian how the Acoplaycolates went in the end of Angel season fianle. I also feel that it was dumb because how are going to show a Acoplaycolates and not show how it ends. I feel that could of kept doing Angel but they had to end it. I also hope to see Angel as David Bordanz in this movie and I hope to see what happens to Buffy when she sees that Spike is still alive. I hope that they are not going to change the story possibly start the show over again and show Buffy in Europe.
I just found out SMG is not going to be part of the movie and there might be a new Buffy. They are trying to make a Star trek thing going on here and I think it would not work and I agree with Wheldon turning them down because how can you do movie with out the orginal cast and no side characters. But if I was Wheldon I would start think restarting buffy on tv or making his movie because if he does not then people are going to stop buying his comics because of the movie. USE David Borneanaz in the cast as Angel!! I would also be thinking about that Faith show which I here people talking on the internet.
