Cancellation Buzz: Terminator Exec Teases Future Shocks That Were to Come - Featured
| loadingJames Middleton, an executive producer on Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, has shed light on where the FOX series was heading, had it not been terminated.
In what would be the series' last moments, John Connor (played by Thomas Dekker) had traveled with Catherine Weaver to a time when the war against the machines was in full tilt. There, the lad came face to face with Brian Austin Green's Derek Reese, who surprisingly failed to recognize humankind's "savior" either by face or name.
Did John's time jump basically delete his legacy from the annals of man-vs.-SkyNet history?
"I think that's the right interpretation," Middleton told SciFiWire.com. "By jumping into this future, he has erased his existence in a certain way. We see that nobody recognizes him."
There was, however, a "knowing glance" when John set his sights on Allison (played by Summer Glau), the resistance fighter whose visage would be used to create Cameron, the Terminator who in Seasons 1 and 2 helped saved the Connor clan's bacon.
"John's look to her is very meaningful," says Middleton. "That would have been a great thing [to explore] in terms of dramatic potential."
Even more dramatically, John's new and "ordinary" status may have altered his ultimate destiny in this time paradoxically altered future.
"If we had gotten a third season, we definitely would have explored what it all meant," says Middleton.

I hate this show is gone. What is Fox thinking? Why do all the good shows keep getting cancelled and yet tired ass shows like 24 stick around? Please let Summer Glau get a show that lasts for once.
FOX really sucks for letting the show go....I wonder whose choice it was for this...they, themself should be terminated from their job!
the last episode made the *third* series look so good and hearing that it wont even get made now is just terrible. Fox really does have its head up its a**
