FOX Unhappy About Illegal "Prison Break"
A million people have already illegally downloaded the 4th season premiere of "Prison Break" which aired on FOX on Monday and FOX is not happy about that.
The network which is known to have little patience with online piracy, has issued a warning to operators of BitTorrent sites:
"Our litigation strategy against BitTorrent in the U.S. has been successful, and we've managed to shut down the major pirate sites. We are pursuing similar strategies internationally and anticipate success there as well."

I really hope they dont find the website that leaked the episode, because I'd like to download the first episode too, it was really good :)
tell me now what's the difference with me recording it off tv and downloading it off the net and the people that uploaded it to that site probably got it off tv in the first place so shouldn't he or she have the right to share it with friends and other ppl not like they are asking for money in return
This doesn't have to do with anything other than the affect downloading has on their DVD sales when they release the seasons after they air. I really can't say they don't have a point.
That will be a challenge you've got to face........ u cant STOP people downloading the stuff....I really love the show!!!
DOWNLOADING = INTERNET + PRISON BREAK ;)
But see, you don't really love the show or you'd want it to succeed. Part of that would be buying the DVD when it's available and not stealing it. Besides, if you miss it on TV, Fox has it on their own site streaming as well as Hulu and several other places. There's really no excuse for theft.
OK!... can someone explain me if that means that they might ban Sidereel?
Sidereel just links to outside sources. They don't actually host the video. I doubt they will be touched by this kinda thing. Most companies are more worried about actual downloaders, not sites that post links.
@zaniac, fox's site works online for Us members..
here in europe.. season 3 hasn't arrived(atleast in greece)... i cannot possibly wait 2 years for season 4...
and, about sidereel, if they really want to stop the illegal download and viewing.. sidereel will be in line... but chances are really slim and it's only happenend a few times in the past...
I am a huge fan of Prison Break, but I live in Austria and here we have to wait for a very long time in order to get the show if we get it at all,the channels don't show it anymore that's why the internet is the only source I have to watch the show.
But because I am a huge fan,I will be the DVDs as soon as the are a little cheaper, because I am not going to pay 50US for a DVD set.
It's a great show and I want it to continue,so I ask every real fan out there to buy the seasons on DVD in order to support the show, because unfortunately due to the time it aires on FOX the show already lost many viewers and I think buying the DVD will probably be the only way to save this show!!!
I don't want it to end,the fourth season is great,so far one of the best season openings I have seen so far!!!
So for all PB lovers:BUY THE DVD SO WE CAN ENJOY IT FOR A LONG TIME!!!!
f**king hollywood.. never happy, You can visit fox and watch the episodes the next day IF you live in the US. but anywhere else its not allowed. Thats just retarded if you ask me.
@cheez4: you're so right!!!I don't know why it's that way,why can't Fox let me watch the show even I don't live in the US?is there any reason?!?!?maybe even a good one?!?!?
Thank you, thank you,I comepletely agree. One the one hand many Americans want you to learn English, and which better way then watching shows and movies in English, but on the other hand if you don't live in the US well...not our problem
that s***s
Outside the US it's nearly impossible to get the shows in a timely manner (if at all). Their logic is also flawed. If not for internet downloads, I'd never have gotten hooked on LOST to the point of obsession. I own the first three seasons on DVD, even though I watched them online first, and plan to buy the 4-6 when released for a full set. Until Fox and all the other stations open their website viewing for other countries, I will continue to watch shows online wherever I can find them. Downloading has nothing to do with my purchases, except to enhance my desire to buy MORE DVDs of the programs and movies I enjoy.
Yeah, it's the same thing with me. I live in Germany and here they haven't even started to air Season 3 yet and that annoyed me so much that I started to watch Season 3 online. I only WATCH it online I never download it. I also watch every episode they show on German TV. This way I don't harm I anyone. Is it my fault that there is no legal way to watch new episodes in time? I would pay for it, if they did.
Can you watch it on Amazon in other countries outside US?

It's pretty cheap.
P.S. I'm sorry to have started a 'riot' over my comment on theft. You've all brought up good points about other countries, but other countries are also very good and getting stuff online. You can always watch it streaming from somewhere. I used OVGuide.com a lot to find shows I missed with major success and noticed that most of the sites that streamed were in another country other than US. Sorry for the frustration.
