Burn After Reading Movie Review

| loading

The story revolves around a disk containing the memoirs of a CIA agent that ends up in the hands of two everyday gym employees who attempt to sell it. One would think this could have some very funny twists and turns but the humor in this one was very dry and almost awkward at times.

Guess I liked this one more than you, Jimmy; I thought it was absolutely hilarious (if you like the Coen breed of humor, I agree). I think the point of the whole thing was just this idea of how a simple scheme can unravel into something disastrous when flawed people are behind it. The movie reminded me a lot of Fargo in that sense (especially since Frances McDormand was involved with both).

But yeah...I tend to be a fan of the offbeat humor. I could see how this will not be a lot of people's cup of tea...
