Whoo-hoo!
ABC Family confirms to us exclusively that the network has renewed 10 Things I Hate About You for the back 10 episodes of season one!
According to show runner Carter Covington, those episodes are likely to premiere beginning in January 2010.
10 Things, based on the 1999 movie of the same name and on Shakespeare's Taming of the Shrew, follows the Stratford sisters (Lindsey Shaw and Meaghan Martin) as they navigate high school and young romance. Gregory Peck's grandson Ethan Peck plays Kat's love interest, sexy motorcycle-riding loner Patrick Verona.
But what's to come in those 10 eps? Here's what we're hearing...
10 Things is the most socially conscious of ABC Family's stable of critical and commercial hits--which now includes Greek, The Secret Life of The American Teenager and Make It or Break It--but Covington says the second half of 10 Things' first season is going to get even more sophisticated as the rivalry between Bianca and best frenemy Chastity (Dana Davis) turns openly political.
As for you fans of Kat's "friend with the disturbingly deep voice who looks much older than 17," show runner Covington says we'll get an "unexpected history of Patrick Verona" in the episodes to come.
Are you as delighted as we are that there will be more 10 Things? Share your joy in the comments!

is it still going to be 30 minutes?
@zivaling121 - I think it'll still be a half hour show, but maybe since it did well they'll consider an hour for the 2nd season - I'll keep an eye out for any updates!
January???!!!! OMG!!!! so long i'm gonna be hangin'... sucks!
that is so cool that Patrick is Gregory Peck's grandson! deep manly voices apparently run in their gene pool. i like him so much more now! he's less of a good looking Shane Botwin from weeds and more of a mini-Peck!
