Swayze memorial to take place on Sunday

Patrick Swayze's private memorial service will be held this Sunday, it has been announced.

The dancer, singer and actor, who died from pancreatic cancer on September 14, will be remembered by friends and family at the Sony Studios in Culver City, California.

Swayze's representative released a statement saying: "In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either of the following two organisations - The Patrick Swayze Pancreas Cancer Research Fund or Stand Up To Cancer."

There was a public memorial earlier this month at Lake Lure in North Carolina, where Swayze's 1987 movie Dirty Dancing was filmed.

Swayze was apparently cremated on September 17 and reports have claimed that his wife Lisa Niemi is planning to scatter his ashes at their New Mexico ranch.
