Seth MacFarlane is too raunchy for Microsoft

| loading

According to Variety, Microsoft isn't sponsoring Seth MacFarlane's upcoming special anymore.

The two big names had originally partnered up to promote the new Windows 7 program, but Microsoft backed out yesterday after "it became clear that the content was not a fit with the Windows brand." MacFarlane's program, "Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex's Almost Live Comedy Show" is set to air on November 8 and features live-action skits and animated segments with Alex Borstein, who voices Lois on Family Guy. Variety noted that, while the animated portions of the show were relatively tame, the live-action stunts were too much for Microsoft.

One word: Weak.

This thing was a bad idea from the start, but now it's just ridiculous. MacFarlane's selling-out fiasco aside, Microsoft was clearly trying to sit at the cool kids' table -- and now they can't even handle the dirty jokes! It's freakin' Family Guy! What did they expect? Wholesome, age-appropriate programming? Let's just hope MacFarlane and Co. can salvage what they've got and quit trying so hard with all the sponsors.
