News
NBC has announced that they won't be ordering any additional episodes of Trauma beyond the show's initial 13 episode order. The show has performed unremarkably in the ratings - shedding viewers since it's already somewhat disappointing premiere.
We can't say that we didn't see this one coming. In fact, we questioned if Trauma was even worth saving just earlier today. So, to the 5 of you that said "yes", we're sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
But for some better news - NBC has ordered 6 additional episodes of fan-favorite Chuck, bringing its 3rd season order up to a total of 19 episodes.
What's more, the show was originally slated to come back in March of 2010, but now it's looking like the show will launch a little earlier - in January (this is, of course, a little later than Michael Ausiello's November return rumor, but it's probably better anyway that NBC takes a little extra time to advertise the show's return).
So, we hope that even if you're devastated by the Trauma axing that you're cheered up by this great Chuck news! Yes?

January > March. And I agree that it's better they get some time to advertise Chuck's return so more than just us real fans know it's coming. Thumbs up for January! :)
would rather see trauma
save trauma its the best medical drama in years
Trauma bores me, it really can't compare to ER. Yes, bring back Chuck - January is better than March, definitely!
yay chuck:D
Much as I love Chuck, I do wonder if it's starting to slide towards the 'let's just keep this going because it's popular and we'll worry about the plots later' school of tv programming. There is no real story arc now and I really don't want it to disappear into the morass of second-rate shows that get cancelled because the fans get bored, and it's going nowhere. Chuck needs to firm up, and fast.
If it comes back in January, it'll just go on a 4 week hiatus in February for the Olympics... If they advertise it well during the Olympics, I guess it'll be ok...
I love Chuck!
Chuck HAS firmed up, fudgefase. And it was pretty much the single most entertaining series last year -
And I think theree's a lot of potential in the new Matrix arc (to avoid spoilers)
I am pretty sad to see Trauma go. It had some strong potential.
But, Chuck > Trauma. Hands down. WAY TO GO, NBC - YOU DON'T SUCK ALL THE TIME.
im really tired of networks cancelling shows i like, and people wonder why i dont have tv and only watch certian shows on the net.
i was so excited when i read that there will be another 6 ep's of chuck,
YESSSS!!!! This is great news to hear, because I'm like a huge fan of Chuck, and March was just too long of a wait. Even though this sucks for Trauma, I think it was for the best though because I never even seen the first episode, and I was never really interested in the show, my opinion is that there're just too many medical dramas out already and I guess one more wasn't really needed.
So stoked Chuck is coming back sooner! I think there would be enough time to get off two episodes before Christmas! It would be the best present.
I didn't even bother watching Trauma, but yay for Chuck!!!
There are a lot of action shows - but Trauma was finally a show that depicted the consequences of action, in a world where kids grow up thinking they can live dangerously without any. NBC has proven their stupidity yet again.
This is amazing. I miss Chuck so much it's somewhat ridiculous. Although I never watched trauma, I'm sorry to see yet another probably good freshman show go. The networks keep only like 3 of their new shows a year it seems, kind of ridiculous.
I am a long-standing fan of Chuck; it's hands-down my favorite show of all time, just narrowly beating out Firefly and Reaper. I am so excited about the new-season of Chuck that I can't really contain myself, but I'm not sure how I feel about Trauma getting the ax. I love Trauma also. It's nice to get a medical show that doesn't focus on doctors and nurses - not that I don't love those kinds of shows; I'm also a fan of Mercy, House, and Scrubs. It's just that Trauma is different; and it also has Anastasia Griffith, and I fell in love with her when I started watching Damages.
So all in all, this is kind of a double-edged-sword; good news for Chuck, bad news for Trauma. Oh well, if only life functioned as it should.
This is awsome, were having more episodes of Chuck. I can't wait until season 3 starts of Chuck I really hope that it airs sooner than March... This show is awsome... Thanxz
YEAAA MORE YVONNE!!!! and chuck is an awesome ass show :D
