Send a Compliment at 17:59 PDT, 29 October, 2009We've just launched some big changes to the site to help you stay up-to-date with your favorite shows.
We've renamed Add to Favorites to more closely reflect what it actually does. We've also made it do more cool things!
When you Subscribe to a TV show you get:
*That show automatically added to your Personal TV Schedule;
*Daily e-mails (if you've chosen to receive them) to tell you what's airing and what just aired;
*Updates to your Notifications on your profile page to tell you when people are talking about your subscribed shows; AND
*New episodes of subscribed shows are automatically added to your Playlist. Check 'em out on your profile page.
I'm really excited about this new feature and can't wait to get feedback about it! Let me know what you think!

It look to me like the subscriptions are like the old "favorites". It would be nice to have the subscriptions in alphabetical order like the favorites where. It would be easier to find the show that a person was looking for.

Is there a way to resize the show-pictures? I've got 3 pictures in my subscriptions-list that are larger than the others. Looks bad and additionally the caption is inside of the picture. The shows are "Band Of Brothers", "Ashes To Ashes" and "Life On Mars (UK)".
like "Hezibel" I'd also prefer alphabetical order, or at least an option to choose.
just wanted to add i like the direct link option makes things much easier whats next or are you gonna makes us wait and see
@Affenfufu - you can add ToDos about shows like that in need of thumbnail image resizing - http://www.sidereel.com/_us/todos. Mods and admins would be happy to help fix those up!
@Hezibell - You got it. They really should be in alphabetical order, clearly a bug there. We'll get that fixed pronto!

It's really great. I noticed so the order of my Favorites change, as I choose a new show of them to watch it goes to the top of the list, so far I like it!! As for the direct links Option: I can't thank u enough for THAT!!
Correction: it just happened this one time now the Subscriptions stay in the same order, no matter what I am watching, so maybe an alphabetical order would be a good idea :)
This still sucks compared to what sidreel used to be. How can you guys at sidereel think this is anywhere near as easy to use as the old favourites view? Every show you watched listed showing where you are up to and a link to the next episode all on one page. Yeah this playlist thing would have been a nice addition to it, but honestly you can't think this new system is a good substitute for it.
It's probably late and the wrong topic but I would like to congratulate you on the playlist idea. It will be much easier to keep up with the shows. Thank you.

Ah bum, this is just the latest episode isn't it? I thought for a minute it was back to the good old days of tracking which episode I'm up to. oh well :)
@commie_stooge - It'll fill up each week with each new episode so it should definitely help with keeping track.
We're also looking into how to get the episode tracker back onto profile pages. I'll keep y'all posted!
Like the new addition a lot. Just a small question. Does this feature add all the episodes you haven't watched to the playlist or only the new ones that are added to the site ?

@ebarello - Glad you like it! Right now it just adds episodes as they air. We'll soon be adding features to help understand what you haven't watched and add those to your playlist.

my subscriptions are not all there and the ones that are are out of the subscription box and bunched up on top of each other. I like the idea, but the formatting doesn't seem to be working for me.
Is there anyway of seeing which show you last viewed? I'm really missing that feature...
This is the wrong tread, but i was wondering if u'r gonna add a feauture on the playlist, that when u've watched an episode, it removes itself?
I'm sure someone's mentioned this before, but it would be quite helpful if once an episode is removed from the playlist the "Last episode I've watched" gets updated automatically

Love the new subscription/playlist feature! Needs to update and remove episodes as you watch them.
@acd2140 - Is it any better now? We've made some formatting changes.
Our next release will let you mark an episode as 'watched' so you can keep your place in any series. One of the challenges we have is when to automatically mark an episode as watched. Should it be when you click a link to watch something? Should it only be when you explicitly tell us?
Any ideas?
Alphabetical order is needed badly!

Alphabetical order would reallllly help, and yes, it would be great to have the ability to tell you when an episode is watched, as opposed to us just having clicked the link. Thanks, Sinistersimian :-)
Sometimes, especially when catching up with shows from the beginning not all the links work and that would make it quite annoying to have the episode updated as soon as you've clicked on the link, so I think that if you can have it updated once you remove the episode from the playlist it would be a lot better.
To sinistersimian : in my opinion we should tell you when it's watched cause sometimes clicking on a link sends you to dead links and you don't actually see the episode. The removed button should equal watched. The user really has a say when he clicks on remove... Keep up the good work the subscriptions are great !!!
Yeah, there definitely needs to be a link between last watched and removing from the playlist.
Also though, can you make a way to reverse the order of episodes in each list, so that the oldest ones, re: the eps you need to watch first, are at the top of the list instead of newest first. Sometimes episode titles are a bit spoilerific when you're a few episodes behind, and it would just make it simpler when catching up.
These features make it easy to keep track of shows but I'd like it better if we could remove shows from the playlist without removing them from the subscriptions.
I also have a question/comment about the playlist. When I try to remove shows from the playlist that I'm not subscribed to, the shows won't remove. Is there anyway this could be fixed?
@Lita_Dingoes - Definitely. We're working on making a stronger link between the playlist and watching. I'll add your awesome suggestion to our list. Thanks!
@aknas - You can remove a show from the playlist without it removing it from the subscriptions, but it's not as obvious as it should be. We'll work on that! The second item you mention sounds bad, let me check with the rest of the devs about it.
