Enter to win a Pirate Radio soundtrack!
About the film:
'Pirate Radio' is the high-spirited story of how 8 DJs love affair with Rock n Roll changed the world forever. In the 1960s this group of rogue DJs, on a boat in the middle of the Northern Atlantic, played rock records and broke the law all for the love of music. The songs they played united and defined an entire generation and drove the British government crazy. By playing Rock n Roll they were standing up against the British government who did everything in their power to shut them down. The band of rebels is lead by The Count, played by the Academy Award Winning Philip Seymour Hoffman, Quentin the boss of Radio Rock, Gavin the greatest DJ in Britian, Midnight Mark, Doctor Dave and Young Carl who comes of age amidst the chaos of sex, drugs and rock n roll. The film features an unbelievable selection of music including The Beatles, The Stones, Beach Boys, Dusty Springfield, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Smokey Robinson, David Bowie, Otis Redding, Cat Stevens just to name a few. The film is laugh out loud funny and speaks to the rock n roll rebel in all of us.

I heard this was a great soundtrack.....haven't had a chance to hear it for myself yet!
I am so excited about this movie. I love the music of the 60s. I know this is going to be a fan-freakin'-tastic movie! I mean it's written and directed by the same man who did Love Actually, which is, in my opinion, one of the greatest romantic comedies of all time. All of his movies have amazing soundtracks that fit in so well with the movies. Pirate Radio will not be an exception.
This is a great movie which was released ages ago in Ireland and the U.K. under the name The boat that rocked. it's out on video here. music is great and it's really funny!
After checking out this clip of “Pirate Radio” I’m definitely going to see it. It looks like it’s going to be funny and I know the music is great. This is going to be something to see especially with all the rock hits I love. I even found out that the movie has its own online radio stationiheartradio.com/pirateradio that I could listen to on my blackberry. Its sooo cool. Listening to it makes me so anxious to see the movie … I can’t wait!
You knnow, being born in the 70's, I never really heard of this incident. But I have seen the trailers and read some reviews and this looks like a great movie. The soundtrack looks awesome. I remember hearing these songs on the record player s my dad used to play thim. Love to have this cd set so I can show my kids osome real music.
Wasn't old enough to remember these guys, but I sure would love to hear the music that is on these cds. Looks great
I can't wait to see this movie. The music alone is enough to rock my world!
OMG i CANT WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!. i LOVE 60's music and have been watching this trailer non stop. YEEEEESSS!!!!!!
My brother and I love this music and I'm planning on dragging him to the cinema for a brother/sister movie day when this comes out. I'm really interested in the true story aspect. Plus, it looks like the kind of movie that's just fun. :-)
Can't wait!
this was the time I discovered rock & roll (& puberty) LOL
Guess I can thank Pirate Radio - looking forward to the movie
Yeah, this was released aaaaaaaaaaaaages ago in britain!
i went to see it with my parents and brother, strong sexual references and drug use are awkward when sandwiched between your parents at the cinema, but it was a great movie,
my dad loved it (he very rarely enjoys movies and even stayed awake through this one) my mum did too. my brother and i decided while drunk later on that we would buy a boat, we realised we had money the next morning with which to buy it.
anyway
great movie if not entirely historically accurate.
good laughs, and great tunes!
What's not to excited about?
Rebellion, music, and a ship. Complete awesomeness.
Can't wait to watch it in the theaters.
I am excited for this movie because of its all-star cast. I am so excited about Philip Seymour Hoffman and Bill Nighy. Really, the purple suit and hat with the feather in it on the poster sold the movie for me and I was in love by the time I actually read the description. I am excited about this movie because of the profound role that music plays in my life and the acknowledgment of how powerful and uniting music can be.
I've never felt like this, I'm alive, I'm alive, I'm alive.
i NEED this album. if i could go back in time i would BE on pirate radio. bowie RULES the world. followed OH SO closely by the kinks.
Nobody plays the old music anymore and people are forgetting all the great singers from 60's like The Beatles, The Stones, Beach Boys, Dusty Springfield, The Who, Jimi Hendrix, Smokey Robinson, David Bowie, Otis Redding, and Cat Stevens. I would love to hear the music in the big screen.
a movie about rock and roll, yes please. and they actually play real music.
I find the pirate radio phenomenon to be very interesting. Radio Caroline and it's copies are one of the great events in civil disobedience, and a very effective one.
Hey. I already saw Pirate Radio at an early screening and the movie was awesome! I'd defintely go see it again. I love the music so much. I would like to win the soundtrack because it has a mix of every classic rock that I like.
