I don't know...I think you can't underestimate the cult following of Joss Whedon (which has only increased in recent times).
Also...Dollhouse is a completely original idea as opposed to Terminator's building on that old story (which I think leaves more room for criticism and may have turned off some fans with the liberties they have taken with the Terminator mythology).
I also just think that Dollhouse looks way better; I just couldn't get into Terminator...or perhaps this is wishful thinking.
I agree Dollhouse is an original idea, difficult to compare it with the Terminator, where we all know the whole story already. I watch it because of Summer Glau, Browncoat nostalgica ;)
DH is not only a original idea, even better, its an idea from Whedon, that means its ment to be unique, unpredictable, fresh, surprising and entertaining.
FOX should have learned from their horrible, irreproducible, daft, arrogant, pointless, devastating, cruel, heartbreaking, stupid - I could go on forever - mistake with FIREFLY, not to f..ck around with one of Whedons projects again.
AND if not, I am bloody sure, since the huge and worldwide success of Dr. Horribles Sing-Along-Blog it is chrystal clear, with this fan following, who need networks ??? :)))
FOX better be extremely careful, as all Whedon fans are on high allert already.
