ThermalTree3 Send a Compliment at 15:27 PDT, 4 October, 2008I just watched Season 4, Episode 8, "Spell," and now I'm wondering: if scissors break on Clark's hair, how does he keep it short? I never thought about it before until Lana tried to cut a lock of his hair off and it broke the scissors. How does he cut it? Does anyone have any ideas? My mom suggested his hair just stops growing at a certain length, but he has had various hair lengths and styles throughout the seasons.

thats a good question, i have to admit when i saw thread i said to myself how does anyone keep their hair short they cut it, but when i read i remembered that his hair can't be cut like you've said so i wonder know as well

LOL. That's a good one! But we haven't seen them deal with that or even talk about it as an issue. And Martha and Jonathan Kent never knew about how the meteor rocks affected Clark until his freshman year at Smallville High.
In the comics, Clark would use a mirror and heat vision. He'd bounce the rays off a reflective surface and sort of laser-burn the undesired hair away.
*laughing* This reminds me of the Saiyans in Dragonball-Z.. when they went to the super fast training and Vegeta's hair didn't grow, but his son's was ridiculously long. No I don't still remember that show O:)
in the old "new adventures of louis and clark" they had an episode where he shaved with his heat vision. but in that series it was more like laser vision then smallevilles "heat" vision.
That's really cool! I didn't know about that before; but it still doesn't explain how they kept his hair short before he developed heat-ray vision.
i wondered the same thing.... if he did use heat vision for his hair to cut it, what did he then use for nail clipping??
He could easily focus his heat-ray on his nails. With practice he'd be able to cut his nails with perfect precision. But if these are the answers, why haven't we seen it in the series? Is there some other alternative? And there's still the issue of how his parents groomed him before he learned to use those powers.

Well you must also remember that in Smallville it didn't appear that Clark had hair and skin of steel untill season 1. Cause think back to the first time he got shot it left bruises. they didn't just bounce off and leave no mark. So maybe when he was a kid and before he learned his powers scissors didn't break when they cut his hair?? Just a thought
I'm just imaging bearded, long haired Clark with long finger and toe nails...... eeyuck.
That would be a whole different series!
I think your mom has the right idea. maybe there trying to shape his hair into the Adult Superman or just trying to correct it :P
clark isn't even bulletproof until later on in the series so its totally possible that when he was younger he was vulnerable or even normal until his powers started to develop like the heat vision and ex-ray vision
