We are all doomed...

...as the great Joss Whedon once said.

WTF happened to Heroes?

This used to be a great, exciting and entertaining show - in Season 1.

Season 2 sucked big time but I thought Ill give it another try as I like season 1 so much.

In season 3 as they called it "Villains", I had high hopes. But now what ?

Whats with all this back an forth, everyone is a villain now? So all people actually let their dark side take over, the one ring to rule them ?

What happened to the writing, where is the central theme, the acting doesnt seem to fit to the characters, Hiro is the best example.

1. Claire turning bad, sorry this is a joke.

2. Parkman on his search for himself with a whodoo man in Africa, sorry I just laughed out loud.

3. Sylar, oh my god, this is the best one, Sylar turning into a Housewife/dad, this IS ridiculous !

4. Nathan is president AND Claires FATHER, ähhh, guys are you serious ?

5. Poor sweet Suresh turning into the creature from the Swamp?

6. AND last but not least Adam/Kenseis return, hello?

A great show is about good storytelling first, in this case it seems as the writers want to much in too short time. Instead of keeping it simple, they blow up their stories synthectically. Why, there is no need for it.

In memorandum of FIREFLY - a incredible show that proved that good storytelling, believable cast, charme and witty humour is enough, no gamesmanship needed.

there is always someone that doesnt like a tv show and i guess your one of them. why dont you just find a show you like instead of telling fans of heroes what you dont like about the show.

Wow, it's so weird how people have different tastes. I thought season 2 was awful but season 3 is amazing! And I can't wait for the next episode!!!

    @ryansmallville

    Hey genius,

maybe you didnt read properly, I Like Heroes in general, or better, I like the vision of what it could become. A good show, at the moment ist just o.k.

From what I have learned in life, people only critisize and fight about things they actually care about.

I really liked Heroes and I am sorry what this great show has turned into, it had a lot of potential and the reason why I am still watching is that I have hopes that the potential will finally show as it makes me angry to see how they waste it.

If you dont appreciate a good argument thats up to you.

Hey give it time. Heroes captured us once. It will sure capture us again. Another thing i believe that the real villains are everyone from the passed who was a hero and slowly but surely they destroy the world becoming villains. Makes sense at least more sense than Lost.

Oh my sweet jessus, sorry to sound like im having a dig, but everything you listed (except no. 4) is amazing this show in my opinion is already well past season one, why you only want one story line in a show that has so many strong people who can carry off seperate stories, yeah we all like the conections between these seemingly random people, but why the hell cant they all just get on with there own lives. You can't expect the real work to work like x-men where they all come together to battle the villans, they have to win there own battles. N matt in africa is genius, he was the only one out of the show that i felt needed to find his place n where better to do this than the spiritually way in africa with his (shaman) guide :P pure amazingness all down the househusband sylar turned nuke to evenge his son, who is noah GENIUS!!!

ok there's one thing i dont understand, how come future peter dies when future claire shoots him? didn't he get her healing power preventing him from dying of any sort of wound? that's illogical

  8. eriol2222Send a Compliment - 11:02 PDT, 7 October, 2008

i agree about the sylar thing, the whole him being peter and nathan's brother and him being nice that's just ridiculous

also the whole thing about being able to kill claire and adam by a bullet in the back of the neck doesn't fit adam's statement in season 2 that "if they knew how to kill me they would have", the writers need to stop changing their minds

    Wow...where to start...

Season 1 was great, season 2 sucked, and season 3 (so far) is very good, at least. As for some of the questions in the review and comments:

    - we've known Nathan was Claire's father since early season 1

    - future Peter died when Claire shot him because the Haitian was present which rendered his abilities useless

    - the "bullet in the back of the head" for killing the immortals was first used by Peter in season 1 (telling Claire how to kill him before he could blow up NYC

All that said...I'll continue to watch, but Heroes will NEVER be as great as Firefly!

Thanx for that, you certainly seem to know your stuff ;))

Glad we agree about FIREFLY. This series has set its own level way above the others.

Jubal Early: "You folks are all insane".

Dr. Simon Tam: "Well, my sister's a ship. We had a complicated childhood".

Do I need to say more ?

  12. DevilRaidersSend a Compliment - 4:40 PDT, 8 October, 2008

    Same episode (out in space)

    River: Permission to come aboard?

Mal: You know, you ain't quite right.

    River: That's a popular theory.

Mal: Make sure to give Simon a good thrashing for ruining your plan.

River: He takes so much looking after.

Television needs more writing like this!

  13. fudgefaseSend a Compliment - 5:52 PDT, 8 October, 2008

Claire said he wasn't dead anyway. If the bullet got taken out he'd live again, just like in season 1.

  14. fudgefaseSend a Compliment - 5:53 PDT, 8 October, 2008

And by the way, Firefly was great. Great writing, great characters. But it got cancelled just the same. Keep tuning in to Heroes or you'll never get to the end.

    @DevilReaiders

    thanx for that ;)

Indeed we need more intelligent writing like Firefly on TV, I am really looking forward to "Dollhouse" in January.

Yeah, Out of Space is one of my favourites, but I think the two "JoSaffBridge" episodes are the best ones:

    Book to Mal:

"If you take sexual advantage of her, youre going to burn in a very special level of hell. A level they reserve for child molesters and people who talt at the theater."

    @fudgefase

Firefly indeed was great, for me the best tv show ever written, dont care that FOX didnt have the guts to keep Serenity flying, idiots ;)

They have learned their lesson the hard way and if they are not careful, viewers might not need tv networks any longer.

Best example Joss Whedons "Dr. Horribles Sing-Along-Blog, with more that 4 Mio viewers on the net, with not big time marketing involved, no 1 at I-tunes in Can, USA, AU, NZ and no1 in soundtracks at I-Tunes as well...

Will try to keep watching Heroes, as Sylar still is an intriguing character if he stays bad. Also over here in Germany TV sucks big time, so all other entertainment is better than what we have over here.

    enjoy your day

just to let you know if you havent cottened on already its a TV show which means its not real it can make no sense at all and be really stupid because you dont have to watch it.

  17. eriol2222Send a Compliment - 5:01 PDT, 25 October, 2008

    true

still what makes a good show is its ability to mix the unbelievable with believable storylines, if all that is said keeps being changed and if stories become way too complicated and unrealistic as far as logic goes than it' just become a load of crap, just nonsense, then each episode becomes about whatching the special effects. which would be boring.
