THE STARTER WIFE premiered as a two-hour episode on Friday, October 10 at 9/8c on USA Network.
The Emmy Award-winning hit original, THE STARTER WIFE, starring Debra Messing returns this Fall focusing on the post-divorce adventures of Molly Kagan (Messing) as she begins a new chapter in her life. On the heels of its stellar ratings and awards success, USA has brought back the hit miniseries of 2007 as a series with ten exciting episodes, with Emmy Award-winner Messing returning to star and now serving as executive producer.
Reprising their roles are three-time Emmy Award-winner Judy Davis ("Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadow") as Joan McAllister and Chris Diamantopoulos ("Behind the Camera: Mork & Mindy") as Rodney Evans - Molly's two best friends. Also returning this season as a special guest star is Joe Mantegna ("Criminal Minds") as Lou Manahan, former studio head and former boyfriend of Molly. I really like Molly's ability to find the best in all situations. I hope in this season she finds the happiness she is looking for!

The miniseries was sophisticated humor and offered an interesting look at how "wives" are sometimes treated as accessories to a man in power. The witty humor and sarcastic scripting was portrayed excellently by the tremendous cast, too. In this season I hope we will have all of our questions answered and, more importantly, see Molly find herself really happy. For her friends, I hope to see them all doing well and the whole "Bambi" situation left in the past.
Molly is just simply funny and loves her disfunctional family and friends don't we all. This series just kept me sucked in and stop breathing at a point because I couldn't believe some of the things that were happening. I looovvvveeeed it. Keep it coming thanks.
I enjoyed when Molly was, albeit briefly, able to step away from her glamorous life and understand what her life might have been like had she not married in the first place. I guess it made her easier to relate to, which made the end even better when she returned to that full force and was still able to be her own person. I really want to see more Joan this season. I felt like they set her up to be a really interesting character and then just kept harping on the same things again and again until you just wanted to scream about all the unused potential. Or I did, at least.
I love this series I was on pins and needles to see what situations Molly would find herself in this time.... I love the change of actor for her ex he's more believable. I can't wait to see more!
I just adore Debra Messing. Anything she is in, is sure to be a hit! She is a riot!
I really like Molly's film-inspired fantasies. They really make the series unique and quirky. very enjoyable!
I watch this show because I love Debra Messing. I love how she portrays Molly and all the funny things she gets into.
I loved Debra in "Will & Grace"....It's great seeing her again...this show looks like it will be a household name very soon... sweet, sneaky and mean all in one... no doubt in my mind a BIG hit....love your work Debra...
I liked that Molly didn't let finding out that she was a starter wife destroy her life. She looked to her friends for comfort and strength which inspire's those that may not be in the same situation as being a starter wife but are just going through a divorce to survive. I'd like to see Molly start up a big money making company that puts her ex- husband's money to shame. I'd love for her to show up all the snobs who put her out of the coo when she was no longer married to her unworthy ex.
Debra fits the part of this show just like she fits for "Will and Grace". The show has suspense which is great! Keep writing I want to watch more.
i just want to see her make her way through all the situations that she gets into and just be happy!
I enjoyed watching Molly come to terms with her "position" in life. So many times we let news destroy us. I liked how she was able to turn to her friends for support. That is always our best support system. I hope Molly is able to show the ex how strong she is and that she really doesn't need him.
I really enjoyed how the TV show epxresses Molly's feelings and thoughts. I really like how they do mock-clips from how she is feeling - like the black and white old-movie-look parts. I think each of the characters still has a lot of development for this next season and I'm really looking forward to getting to know all the characters more.
