Though EW reported back at the beginning of September that everyone's favorite Gossip Girls, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester would be guest starring in an upcoming 30 Rock episode as part of a high school flashback, Michael Ausiello is now reporting that it's not happening.

Official reason: logistical reasons.

Unofficial hypothesis: maybe 30 Rock realized they were going too crazy with the guest stars. Lively and Meester are rock stars in the land of The CW, but does Tina Fey - the next Queen of the Universe - really need them on her show? Methinks no.
