Review
It seems that the writers are escalating the darker aspect of last week's episode, Prey. Clark is once again faced with the "threat" of going public as Jimmy tries to find out the identity of Metropolis' secret hero. I find it to be getting tiresome that he's so focused on keeping his secret. The revelation that there's a noble hero out there would give us normal people some hope that there is someone in this world who's pure and selfless (as he comes to realize).
It was an interesting touch to have Lois's side story only revealed to us through the mind reading talents of the villain. We were not made aware that she knew who he was (or his past killings) until he touched her and learned of it himself, which is when she turned from the naive damsel in distress into the ruthlessly clever reporter we all know and love. She kicked some meteor-infected ass. But its interesting that out of all the people she could call for help (including the police), she calls her farm boy. Hmm.

Hell, maybe Lois found out Clark's secret from "Committed" we never know.. and I agree with Clarks secret.. Jimmy found out on his own, why is clark such a pansy and why doesn't he grow a pair and just tell him.. what's he going to do, write a whole article on Clark Kent being superman..? IF he does, he'll probably be jeopardizing his relationship with Chloe.. Meh, But Clark has got to be more careful if he wants to keep his secret.. like, of course Jimmy is gonna go to Chloe.. why would Clark speed over there and talk to Chloe.. What a derrick.
Wow what en episode. Loved the end and what Chloe did to that guy. So didn't expect that.
Definitely the best episode of this season, so far. I liked the script, the action, the music, very entertaining indeed... I love the way fate mocks our heroes´plan and Green Arrow ends up saving the day. What about Jimmy´s face when he sees his heroe on the roof!!! The actors gave a great performance. With regards to our superman´s cape, it seemed to me as if Justin was joking with Tom suggesting him he should wear it from now on in the series, and Tom Welling answers ´not in this lifetime´! really funny!
To give an emotional touch to this episode, I still miss our mysterious, intelligent and beautiful girl (Kristin K) to shake our man of steel´s heart, but that s because I am a Tom-Kristin fan and I just can´t imagine Lois as Clark´s soul mate.
Yes, we were certainly shown a darker side to Chloe at the end of this episode. It makes it easier to accept her actions when we know that she's aware that the mind reader is a killer. But the true reason she killed him is to protect Clark's secret. Very dark, and it sort of reminded me of the end of an episode in Buff the Vampire Slayer (when Giles secretly smothers Glory/Ben to stop him from ever coming back). Are we being introduced to a Chloe that will eventually be comfortable in joining forces with Doomsday? We can only wait and see.
For those of you who thought that the mind reader's face was familiar, he played the vampire in the short-lived Blood Ties.
And by the way, how Exactly did Chloe get this new ability? Braniac gave her super-intelligence, but how does she transmit it to someone else's brain and overloead their system?
The dude had the meteor power to read someone's mind whenever he touches them. They never went into dpeth on this ability, but I'm going to guess that he can't control it and that it has to be skin to skin. As such, when Chloe touched him, he automatically began downloading all the information in her super-brain. Like Chloe said, the brain can ponly handle so much information before it crashes and all the data is lost.
I really enjoyed that ending. The last couple episodes, Chloe has been annoying me a bit; especially in Prey with her whole, 'I can't betray my kids.' motto. The ending of this episode redeemed her in my mind and I eagerly await next thursday for some more ass kicking.
Brilliant! I didn't even realize that it was HIS ability interacting with hers that killed him.
