I have a feeling it won't be back, at least not for a while. I think (from what I've heard in interviews) that Billie wants to just enjoy being a mom, which probably means no more working on Secret Diary. I'm sad to see it go, though. I was enjoying watching Billie again after she left Doctor Who.
8 episodes is such a short season though, and they would have plenty of material for another few from the books... i guess i'm just holding out hope! as far as i know though there hasn't been an official press release canceling the show.
am i going insane or is sidereel going insane, there's a link 4 season 3, episode 1 and it says air date 18th jan, n wikipedia says the same. there's no word of this on tv.com and neither on secret diary's itv page either :S
Season 3 is actually just Season 2, but was probably entered separately so it could show up on people's calendars as new and airing in the US since it already aired in the Uk.
There WILL be a third season. Billie was contracted to do it some time ago. Originally, ITV wanted series 2 to be longer than the first one, but when they saw that they'd have to use a body double because of her being visibly pregnant, they decided to make the season "short" so they could have Billie get her clothes off for real after the baby.
Piper has said HERSELF that recording starts in March of this year. She will have a producing credit this time out, it seems.
I don't think she's been contracted beyond the third series, though.
