Review
In With Thieves is a smoking mobster film with everything. It has the Albanian Mob known to be ruthless in gangland. Throw in a Cuban Cartel that uses the power of Santeria to protect itself from cops and other gangsters. In the background a African crime group is in play. Rounding out the different gangs is burglary ring of American crooks that is black and white.
The movie is a dark seedy tale of friendship, greed and violence from writer-director Sid Kali. A $500,000 gabling debt owed to an Albanian Mob Boss Anton (Jayson Matthews) forces recent parolee Jack McGee (Tony Napoli) to think about his next illegal pay day. Soon enough, he finds himself embroiled in an illegal blood-diamond deal worth $5 million, a scheme involving a voodoo-practicing Cuban cartel with a female contract killer Rita Desouza (Arnita Champion) and an African-based crime syndicate boils over into a bloody gangland war. In With Thieves is was entertaining. Plenty of action with some pretty sexy nudity through out.
There is a scene where a burned out tweaker fixes crystal meth to shoot up in a can. It was graphic giving it more weight in on the realistic chart. The Santeria scenes were well done with that dark sinister feel. This movie has a lot of goodies for gangster movie fans that want something different.
