Imagine if you will, a series that mixes Fantasy Island with The Love Boat thrown into a hotel setting. Hotel Babylon is all that and more with staff romance, guest intrigue, and acerbic British wit. The characters are interesting enough to make you care but without a lot of the heavy-handed developments that turn a light-hearted, relaxing series into a darker show. I think that's what I like the best about Hotel Babylon, it's well-enough written to make me want to come back for more yet still playful enough to unwind with after a hard day's work. I was quite pleased to find this proverbial "diamond in the rough".
