I love the show and i don't ever want it to end.I didn't like the end of this season it made Shane look so bad and her and jenny have always been friends i think the show should end with no drama.

Please do not end the l word. The story lines hit so close to home. It's helped me in so many ways and made me realize alot of things when it comes to my life. The cast is amazing Who ever thought that staight women could play such roles and make it so realistic. It definitely helped me and I am a lesbian

I love the show and I'm straight. I felt bad when it went off after what seemed such a short season only to tell me that I have only 8 more shows to look forward to. Logo is going to begin showing the first ones starting June 26. Like Queer as Folk, which only lasted through 5 seasons, for some reason showtime seems determined to turn this one off too. I don't think they realize how large an audience they have. Since they quit showing L, I turned off showtime and won't turn it back until next season. If everyone drops showtime when they take it off the air, than maybe showtime will learn something.

I am surprised with such a large following that there will only be one more season. I was a late arrival to the show, end of season 2 and am completely hooked. I purchased all available seasons on DVD and am promoting it with my circle of friends and acquaintances who signed on to showtime to watch the show. I am fascinated with the realism of the program considering I came out when it wasn't popular and experienced serious descrimination. I am thrilled for the younger generation to have a program which portrays the lesbian lifestyle in such a real, positive and normal manner. Having been around awhile and living the lifestyle in NY, FL, RI, & KS I am happy that various personality types and relationship situations are portrayed.

I would be interested in understanding WHY the show will only have one more season and a short one at that. As an aside, the only reason I have Showtime is this program.

i agree to all of this. im straight but the l word is a wonderful show.the l word represents a lot. it means more than any of those meaningless shows. getting rid of it would be a mistake in many ways. losing the l word could jeopardize showtime. why would they want that?

come on people, why not petition showtime for more gay-themed shows, or how about just some prominent gay/queer characters on the network? l-word is dramatic and ridiculous. unless you live in LA, routinely meet high-powered gay exec types (of which there are hundreds, right?) casually model/DJ/cater/financially advise/teach whenever you're not partying, don't give a hoot about education (much less mental or spiritual improvement), occasionally use hardcore recreational drugs, and have all the time in the world to bitch and gossip about your next door neighbors, this show doesn't mirror any intelligent lesbian's life that I know of. are we supposed to be grateful to showtime for making lesbians look like shifty bitches? are we?

oh, and shane is NOT hot! are you all blind?? besides the fact that she needs, among other things, a shower and a bra, her vacuous stare and pencil-thin loose-hanging lips give me the creeps. if any girl that looked like shane came after me I'd turn straight.

It should go before it turns to crap--like Friends. I think this should be the last season...and about the story line being ridiculous...if you want "reality" t.v., you know which shows you should be watching, so don't complain. They give the people what they want. And about Shane not being hot, I completely agree. I wouldn't turn straight, but I definitely lean towards femme/high-femme. To each-her own.

The L word is not just a show, it's home to so many people. It's such a great program that tackles issues and factors that other shows are scared to do, or simply won't. They're idols for so many people, and they have helped so many people come to terms with their own sexuality and other's too. I don't see why it should end; there's such a large crowd following it. It's one of the only shows that has the courage to lead the minority and talk about things that should be talked about. It's a great, entertaining show that is also a learning experience for us all. I guarantee Showtime will lose a lot of subscribers/customers if The L word ends. I mean, South of Nowhere AND The L word? Come on...

As for Shane not being hot, I do disagree with Wimplewurm and Belleaspen86. Additionally I'd like to add, we are all entitled to our own opinions; however, if what you have to say is inconveniently negative and insulting, then it would be best to keep it to yourself (or find a nicer manner in which to say it).

I don't think The L Word should be canceled. It's the only lesbians show we've got and they want to take it away from us??? Not fair at all. This show has an excellent plot and cast, all of the girls are unbelievably beautiful. I must say though, this season ended terribly 'cause to put a Shane in those terms with Jenny it's ridiculous; according to Shane's character, that's something she'll never do to a friend like Jenny. IT HAS TO STAY!!!

It makes me very sad to read that the L-Word will most probably go into it´s last round! Although I´d also prefer to see many more seasons of the show, i can understand why the producers/makers have or want to come to an end at some point. See, most great seasons couldn´t find the right timing to end and slowly, season by season, lost their quality and the good and authentic stories! And beacause I love The L-Word so much, i would not want this to happen to my favourite show!

Therefore i just hope that one day we can all go see L-Word --The MOVIE !!!

    Wouldn´t that be sweet ?!

I just love the cast of the L-Word! Audition really did a great job there!

Some tricky kissing and sex scenes were so authentic, chapeau!

    Keep it up!

..and maybe we will get to see a new great L-Show soon ?

  26. disfasiaSend a Compliment - 17:03 PDT, 9 July, 2008

I think the L Word is a very badly written show with some talented actresses who pulled it off only because of a rather mediocre audience who have low expectations of lesbian representations. Much better can be gone, gay or straight!

I find it curious that people want to lengthen the tenure of a show that is really not that great, where the psychosis of one character or the transsexualism of another adds nothing to a very boring narrative that often resembled soft-porn (ie. the endless montages of women having sex to music lasting for the last ten to fifteen minutes of many episodes).

Let these actresses move on and let us have better writers in the future. More well-written shows please!
