Vampire fascination helps HBO's 'True Blood'

Catching the wave of a public fascination with vampires, HBO's "True Blood" has steadily increased in stature to become the cable network's most popular series since "The Sopranos" and "Sex and the City."


Based on the series of Sookie Stackhouse novels written by Charlaine Harris and starring Anna Paquin in the lead character's role, "True Blood" has grown its Sunday night viewership by 66 percent since its debut in September. Read more ...

    I love alan ball and enjoy true blood, but I doubt it'll ever be as GOOD as Six Feet Under.

    That show was absolutely brilliant.

    yes that's right but the vampire stuff draws curiosity, and it has been the same for ge. With True Blood it's also the rise of many other fairy creatures, and it's interesting. People in the show have their own world and history, and vampires are so attractive! the killings have not disappear, and a great fight will start between the church of the fellowship and the vampire community. I read the books and is still amazed by the show, and on this point, Ball did a pretty good job, I mean there is no suspens or surprise except the director's skills and perspectives! And he did a great job! I so love HBO and have been a fa of almost all its shows from SITC, to Rome and Six feet Under!
