No, don't think about who else is coming off that train.. whom had he just met?. his new partner, i know it's a little obvious but he died.. not literally but technically he flatlined after meeting his partner, sure it was delayed but maybe it was intensified by the running... i think his partner is the one, she is the only character who they developed to mean more, someone thats not just a skirt think on the development with omar, and even amsterdam, he tells her what she believes to be tall tales but he tells her none the less.. just think about it the plot can easily be simplified.
