Seriously, Simon Pegg? I'm sorry all I can think of is Shaun of the Dead. I just hope this doesn't become a British comedy. Don't get me wrong I love Simon Pegg. I love the stupid idiocy of all of characters. I just think that JJ Abrams may not be for him. True, Scotty was the comic relief in show, but he could also be extremely serious and intelligent at times. I just don't want this movie to become laughable.
Speaking of actors. What is with the age bracket? Why is everyone in this movie under the age of 30ish? I mean in the original Scotty was a little older and Spock was quite that young neither was Kirk. Ok, Chekov was pretty young, but everyone else seemed older than the cast they have lined up. Whatever happened to experience?
Anyways that's my two-sense, please respond.

Above everything else...Simon Pegg is an Actor and it's his Job to be able to play different characters...just because he has done comic roles so far doesn't mean he isn't capable of doing something else. But I guess actors will always be stereotyped if they repeatedly do the same sort of roles.
I say give these lot a chance...they wouldn't have cast them unless they were thought to fit the parts.
I liked him as Scotty (and I am a major Hot Fuzz fan). Just watch the movie, I think you'll enjoy it.

First, it's two cents. And 90% of your message was completely incoherent, please read before you post. Also it's a PREQUEL so they're *supposed* to be younger.
