Donna

I don't really think Donna's too old. The Doctor can't always have a young assistant. I mean, John Barrowman (Jack) is older than David, and nobody really comments on that. I think Catherine gives a good vibe to the show, and judging on her performance from Partners in Crime, I already know she's gonna make a good companion.

I had doubts about Donna being a good companion, but they are starting to disappear. Her performance in Fires of Pompeii, was outstanding. She showed an emotional side to herself, which in turn drew out the same in the Doctor. Its refreshing to have someone who isn't in love with the Doctor, and speaks her mind. Although the other companions spoke their minds, they didn't question the Doctor as much as Donna. This is not only resulting in witty banter, we also get to see the Doctor question his own actions, making him a better person (alien) He is finally starting to move on from losing Rose, it will be great to see his reaction when they meet again.
