Dr Brennan appears to have some Asberger tendancies. Brilliant but with a tentative grasp on social norms and skills. What does anyone else think?

I love the character of Dr. Brennan and how she interacts with everyone else in her life. She is a very interesting character.

Asperger tendencies? umm....ok....being smart isn't an asperger tendency...people who have Asperger's just THINK they are smart, there is a difference. As for her grasp of social norms, throughout the show, if one of her friends needs her, she helps them (her actually having friends is another thing pointing to her not having asperger's). She may not know how to help, but she wants to help, which is something that someone with asperger's probably wouldn't care about.

She shows the same signs that most genius/prodigy/etc people show. i.e. not knowing how to form the friendships that they want, or how to show their feelings to the few friends they do have, it isn't a mental disorder. They had no friends growing up and never learned how to do those things, that may lead to problems, usually depression. but asperger's is basically a mild form of autism, and isn't something someone develops at age 20 something when they realize they have no friends.
