"I Want to Believe" That This Title Isn't Lame

Calling all X-Files fans!

This summer's highly anticipated sequel is no longer just the yet-to-be-titled X-Files 2 Movie.

As of today, it is "The X-Files: I Want to Believe".

Read more about the origins and background of this title selection over at The Huffington Post. Apparently, this was the mantra on a poster that Fox Mulder kept in his office.

What do you think of the title (I personally think it's a little lame, but I never actually watched The X-Files, so feel free to tell me I'm wrong)?

I'm afraid i have to disagree with you.

The whole series revolved around that one quote 'I want to believe' its what the X-Files was about. if you plan on seeing the movie you'll probably want to watch some of the series cause if you don't know the basic plot line (which is pretty much 'I want to believe') then you probably wont enjoy the movie as much.

But yeah, its a good title for the movie. It sums up the show and its something the fans all recognize and still get excited when they hear.

I have to agree with sallison. The title is great and I am sure many hard core fans will agree and like it. It's a bit of a tribute to Mulder and his quest.

Bring on the 25th July. Best birthday present ever. Thank you Chris Carter.

If the whole series revolved around one quote (though I'm pretty sure it doesn't) it would be "The truth is out there." I don't even recall "I want to believe" ever being uttered.

It's a very lame title. I'd prefer "Gray's Anatomy" or "Thank You For Smoking Man". :)
