Meet the New Conan
Remember Jimmy Fallon? He was the guy that always laughed during his Saturday Night Live skits (especially when they were with Horatio Sanz) and made the quality film Taxi a few years ago. In his defense, he also did a really good job hosting SNL's Weekend Update (with Tiny Fey) and was completely endearing in Fever Pitch (my opinion, some might disagree).
Well, you're going to be seeing a lot more of Jimmy Fallon (who happens to be a Brooklyn native) because as of Fall 2009, Jimmy is the new Conan! When Conan takes over Leno's slot, Jimmy Fallon will be taking over Conan's. Guess that means that poor Carson Daly is staying put...
NBC won't make an official announcement until next month, but there have been rumblings about this for a few days now and FoxNews.com confirmed it today.
What do you all think? Does Fallon have what it takes to be the next great Late Night host?

The perfect job for someone who knows funny but can't act. He CAN sing though and I hope they find a good way to work that into the hosting gig. I'm just glad it isn't Horatio Sanz. He blows. Blow Horatio! Blow!
YES i agree jimmy understands what is funny and what is not. Lately Conan has had some bomb jokes during recording but i was cracking up at home. where do they get those audiences. Horatio on the other hand should take daly's spot. carson should go back to eating meatloaf with mom.
Very true! If Fallon wasn't laughing through them, he had some hilarious songs and a good singing voice.
Actually, I thought that when he was laughing through a scene it made it even better. I cracked up when I saw them start to laugh, it made it more real and human. I like seeing them come out of character every now and then. But that's just my opinion...
